Ali Abbas cries because his arms are blown off and his parents are killed

Arms gone. Parents gone. 60% of his body covered in burns. From an American bomb, paid for with our tax money, dropped on the orders of one George W. Bush.

When you see all the sneering freepers pull out their propaganda pictures of a little girl crying while she gets used as a tool to support the "man" who ordered this atrocity, please take it with a grain of perspective.

22. Voting for war as a possible outcome to a series of policies...
... is not the same as voting to go to war.

8. actually, the kid has received excellent care . . .
from British doctors, including top of the line prosthetics . . . doesn't excuse what happened to him, of course, but the publicity he received at least got him some help . . . most kids (and adults) with similar injuries don't receive this kind of care . . . or any care at all, in many cases . . .

7. The war in Iraq is an atrocity and a crime...
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 12:28 AM by Darranar
it is an unjustified, illegal, and despicable war, waged foolishly and harmfully. It has brought tremendous harm upon the people of Iraq, and dealt considerable harm to the people of the United States as well. It is being waged for US and corporate power, not for the high-minded humanitarian reasons given by the Bush Administration (after the WMD excuse fell through).

But I refuse to use the disgusting, despicable, and murderous policies of the "president" as an excuse for what was done to the little girl.

13. You You see a kid with his hands blown off.
There are thousands other children just like him. But Americans are not crying for them. They are crying because little girl's Bush sign got ruined. I am sure her daddy will buy her a new sign and she will be happy again. But nothing will make this boy's hands grow back. Get a clue.

14. Thank you lizzy
I have read with disgust the threads you speak of. They have arrived in force on this forum this evening.

You are exactly right. Americans are not crying for this child. Or any of the thousands like him at all. Sickening.

Thank you for your spot on post.

15. Yes, his hands were blown off...
there is no excuse for what was done to him, no justification for this atrocity, this illegal crime. War is a disgusting, horrible thing, and when waged for purposes of greed it is even more so. This war was unjustified and completely wrong.

There are indeed thousands of children like him. Thousands of children who Bush decided deserved "liberation". Thousands of children killed or maimed for life because a few powerful members of the elite wanted more power and wealth. Tens of thousands of adults, too, have been killed and wounded in this war.

The numbers of dead Iraqis are uncertain. No one in the Pentagon bothers to count them. They are "unimportant" I guess, "non-people". They are irrelevant to the true purposes of this war: the securing of the oil there, continued US dominance of the Middle East, and a useful political distraction from the mess in Afghanistan and in domestic matters. Dead Iraqis were useful excuses for war, but they can be ignored afterwards, it seems.

for the indifferent and the stonehearted, who can turn away from the images of this kind of human toll, to exhort the deeds of the war-mongrels-in-chief.

How quickly these more serious matters fall off the page when the matter of a little republican girl whose sign was damaged because of her Stupid Father must be considered at great length in no less than SIX FUCKING THREADS.
