4. First combat deaths in the Guard since the Korean war.
Of that 157 total, 57 perished in the past three months (as of June), compared with 49 over the preceding seven months. May was the deadliest month for the Guard and Reserve, with 22 killed in action.

3,000 soldiers of the 56th Brigade of the Texas Army National Guard's 36th Infantry Division were alerted in May for possible deployment to Iraq. Lt. Col. John Stanford, spokesman for the Texas National Guard, said the 36th Division has not seen combat since World War II.

3. As of 6/26/2004
Pentagon casualty reports show that 100 members of the National Guard and 57 members of the Reserves have died in Iraq since the war started in March 2003 — either killed in action or by noncombat causes.

That number has to have changed. This is the closest I can get to the total. Maybe someone can help get an updated figure.

7. I am not sure if this page will help
or if it is what you are looking for at all. I have not had a chance to go through all the names and see how many are National Guard.

I have to agree with David Zephyr here...I am stunned. And sickened.
