QUESTION OF THE DAY
Should there be an investigation into the authenticity of President Bush's National Guard documents?
51% yes
49% no
Who are the losers who want an investigation?

4. here's a better one
Should the media have investigated the authenticity of the Swift Boat claims, or it is better than it was left alone?

6. Sure why not. what do we have to fear
Even if those particular documents turn out to be false they are not refuted by any other existing documents and it is the message that Bush* did not fulfill his obligations that is important. The more investigating the better IMHO

9. All online "polls" are BS
They shouldn't even call them polls. They haven't a shred of statistical validity.

Re the memos -- they're becoming a distraction from the facts. What matters is the truth of the issue. I'm beginning to think Karl Rove did plant them. In the minds of a lot of idiots, if the memos are discredited, that somehow means that any criticism of Dubya's stellar military record has to be false.

It's like the OJ case -- if the cops are racist and planted evidence, then he has to be innocent. You don't throw out the whole idea of guilt or innocence. You throw out any evidence that is tainted and examine the rest objectively.

Everyone who's coming forward now paints the same picture of a smug asshole with a huge smirking sense of self-entitlement who "supported" the war while dodging the draft, dodging even the minimal requirements of his champagne unit, drank, did drugs, and basically carried on like a spoiled adolescent. Disregard the memos and he's still a hypocritical, draft-dodging asshole.
