Cheney just returned to scare tactics
after meeting with republican leaders...

He just read a statement on CNN that said, in essence, that chimpy has a clarity of vision while Kerry has a muddy concept of what things should be like. He said Kerry would return "us" to the pre-September 11th world and be weak on terror, etc.

It was astonishing in its economical viciousness. I hope Kerry responds....but it's a good sign that Kerry has put the screws to these fuckers and they have to ramp up their rhetoric.

4. It's funny how they try to portray Kerry as a new kid on the block
It just pisses me off that they try to make it out like John Kerry just came out of nowhere. Like his father got him to be a governor of some state and then he is deciding to run for president without any other type of political know-how. Oh wait...I guess that can happen.

7. Oh the good thing is
taht they had to interrupt the new Smear Boat Liars ad to go to Cheney. They must have been tortured about what would be more harmful to the Kerry campaign.

13. Ignore this one. The news cycle is now going to be dominated by
Kerry's draft statement. Don't give the cycle back to Cheney.

civilians in the streets of Detroit and New York. I remember it well, thankfully that only happens in Iraq these days! Four more years!

21. choice btween hope and fear
my letter to the editor sums things up on this issue

It will be printed in Friday's edition of the Citien's Voice -- NE-PA paper

here's the letter

feel free to copy/paste/modify/use it

Dear Editor:

This election year is perhaps the single most important election our country has ever faced and it is up to us, the voters, to decide which road we will take.

This election will not hinge on the economy, social security or even foreign affairs. This election hinges on a choice between fear and hope.

A few weeks ago, Vice-President Cheney implied that voting for Senator Kerry would result in more terrorist attacks. Earlier this week House Speaker Hassert repeated the same "connection", and I'm sure we will continue to hear the same from others. The underlying message is "be afraid - only Bush can stop terrorist attacks."

Senator Kerry's message is one of hope and a belief we can do better. President Bush's message is one of fear and a belief that "close enough is good enough".

History has shown that when Americans are united and challenged - we stand together and work together to meet those challenges. We have many challenges facing us today - and we have a choice. We can hide behind bushes in fear or we can stand up and face the future with confidence.

Hope or Fear - these are our choices in November.
