Sept. 22, 2004 — UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe accused President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Wednesday of acting like God in riding roughshod over international law in Iraq and elsewhere.

"We are now being coerced to accept and believe that a new political-cum-religious doctrine has arisen, namely that 'There is but one political god, George W. Bush, and Tony Blair is his prophet'," the veteran African leader told the U.N. General Assembly.

"Iraq today has become a vast inferno created by blatant and completely illegal and defiant acts of aggression by the United States, Britain and their allies," he said.

"Regrettably, we continue to see the unfortunate and futile tendency to use assistance in this area as reward for political compliance and malleability, making it unavailable to countries whose governments are deemed 'inconvenient'," he said.

But he does have a point. With Abu Ghraib the US lost any kind of credibility, and even the Sudanese government has been making the same kind of statements.

The UK, under Blair get covered with the same cloth, as long as he supports Bush without question.

Before the invasion of Iraq, we had credibility, now we're not that far above Mugabe.

Edit to take out my admiration for mugabe..I didn't know he was a terrible dictator..Does he really have gays executed in Zimbabwe?
