Just participated in an automated phone call survey

Just got an automated phone call survey asking if I thought the country was going in the right direction, somewhat right, undecided, or wrong direction, and to push the corresponding button on the phone. Then it asked who I would vote for and again it was Kerry, and maybe, and undecided, and leaning to bush, or bush.

Then the voice began pushing absentee ballots, and said they would mail me one. I began to be suspicious that it was from the bushies. I declined the absentee ballot and the voice said this survey was conducted by the Democratic Party!

First time I was ever polled about anything! I live in PA. Of course I said 'wrong direction' and KERRY!

3. Vote By Mail is good....very good

There can be no voter intimidation if you fill your ballet out at your kitchen table and let the postman take it away. You don't need to stand in line or show ID or find a place to park. It is very convenient and the easier we can make it for voters the more that are likely to vote. We want a strong turn-out. Oregon went Vote By Mail a few years ago and they love it. They also have the highest Turn-out in the country. Absentee Ballots are just the first step toward regular Vote By Mail.

That repubs were pushing it--can't remember the reason. For people like us who are going to vote for Kerry no matter what, it would be OK. We live in a tiny rural precinct and everyone knows everyone, so there's no problem. I guess it is bad for the undecideds--a last minute bombshell could sway them to Kerry and they may have already cast an absentee ballot for bush.

the sent out notices to all registered pugs to sign up for absentee ballots

8. Figure it this way...

Repubs = paper ballots = counted
Democrats = voting machine = not counted (or messed with)

Either we use a verifiable voting machine (with a reciept), or paper or absentee ballots is the way to go.
