Why isn't the George Jr. campaign singing Libya from the rooftops?
It seems to me this is their #1 defense against attacks by critics of the war on Iraq. Why isn't every 3rd sentence out of their mouths:

"Being strong and resolute and confronting Saddam Hussein has meant that other nations know we mean business, and has allowed us to come to terms and make great and peaceful gains in countries like Libya who have renounced their weapons programs, terrorism and made restituion for their past terrorist activities."

I hear it once in a while, but I expect to hear it all the time and it's not there. Even if it's a bogus line of reasoning, it seems that it would play well.

I'm confused.

1. Ghaddafi started to deal with us long before Iraq happened
I remember them trying to take credit for it a couple of times, but every so often a brave newspaper would courageously and with breathtaking research skills actually go so far as to point that out. Maybe they gave up. Maybe some in the media said that's going too far, we'll print a lot of your crap but not all of it.

2. Yeah, but who reads the papers?
What we hear in the mainstream press is that they're on board ditching their weapons programs and paying out millions to people they blew up. That kinda stuff plays well.

Hopefully you're right, and the Administration knows they would be totally bluffing and the press wouldn't put up for it.
