Dear Mr Bush. I am a woman. I am a mom, not a "security" mom.
I have not, and never will, buy the line you have tried to sell to me and my fellow moms over the past four years.

My children are no safer with you in charge. In fact, quite the opposite. I watch moms cry every day over sons and daughters...husbands...boyfriends...lost in this senseless war. Soldiers that you care nothing about...at least not enough to attend funerals...As I think of it, my children are less safe with you in charge...

I board airplanes not because of anything you have done, but because I choose to live free or die. You have not made a difference...except to add a rider onto NCLB that gives military recruiters access to my children's names and addresses by federal law. You haven't cared about my children. Don't lie to me.

If I were to be a true "security mom", which I am in this sense, I will vote you out. 9/11 happened on your watch. Your VP has threatened us with more terrorism if we don't "choose the right candidate". You have abused a terror alert system that would have worked, had it not been used as a diversion. I AM NOT AFRAID.

NOT AFRAID ANYMORE. Shame on you, Mr Bush, for using fear as a platform. Frankly, I guess I shouldn't be surprised....

1. I'm a security MOM, too. I'm voting ABB, baby. If Butch "wins", I'll
take my daughters to security in Holland when the time comes.

3. Dammit the SecurityMom crap is soooooooo condescending!
Would a security mom send her children to a neighbor's house to kill and be killed?

5. Good letter. I agree 100%
I was thinking tonight as I was doing dishes that there must be many, many thousands of people in this country who are being directly affected by these wars that Bush has our young people involved in...husbands, wives, sons, daughters, and all the extended families of these people. I can't believe there are many of these relatives who will vote for Bush now that they hear how badly this war in Iraq is going. They must be frightened every waking moment just waiting for that call saying their loved ones are dead or maimed.

I was talking with a Desert Storm vet last night who had been wounded. (I was at the Democratic headquarters where a friend (Skip Barker from Selma, AL of John Kerry and fellow Swift Boater was speaking.) The vet said he has a son in Iraq now. My heart went out to him. These vets are saying there is lots of support for Kerry. And if vets are supporting him, then I feel confident that thousands upon thousands of relatives of those in Iraq must also be supporting him.

6. My cousin is finally on her way home after suffering injuries for the
third time. I am grateful for her safe return, scared to find out what the injuries were, and very sad for those still left behind there.
