No Min. Wage increase since '95...same time congress has had 8 raises...!
And AWOL is against raising the minimum wage...plus the attempt at

capping overtime was a big issue.

Bush doesn't give a shit about the American workers.

Tell your friends this and let them know Kerry is ALL FOR rasing the

minimum wage!

3. and you and I don't have any inflation...?
they have it set up where it's automatic...while workers suffer the rising cost of healthcare, energy costs, food costs...

I call that inflation.

4. Have McDonalds and Walmart held the line on prices for 8 years?
Otherwise, those companies have effectively CUT their employees' pay. Are they using that little windfall to create MORE jobs?

5. I think...
that this would be the perfect thing for Kerry to show that he is for "little people". He needs to get out there and make * defend Walmart v. the rest of us. Has he talked much about this yet?

6. Congress just gave itself another raise!! I wondered if anyone
would pick up on that. My jaw dropped when I heard it.:wow: Of all the nerve!!

Just when the overtime thing is being killed and jobs are offshoring 100 mph.......these quacks give themselves a raise.

I'm for writing to these, our beloved representatives in DC, to tell them I think their raise should be given back or donated to some charity. THEY VOTED THEMSELVES A RAISE USING OUR TAX DOLLARS!

It's OUTRAGEOUS!! :nuke:

7. It's way overdue
If we had kept with the tempo FDR and Truman gave us, it would be much higher and the standard of living would be better. I can't believe I had to argue the legitness of the min wage yesterday, I am sorry but maybe it's the new dealer dem in me but I do not trust business to be truly fair to their employees.

10. Congress gave itself a truly obscene raise
several years ago of, I believe, $38,000, saying they needed to do that to attract the best people. The next election we got Sonny Bono and Wes Cooley.

14. All I Know Is That Every Election Cycle
Nobody ever wanted the job of being a US Representative or US Senator. It's like you had to BEG people to take those jobs before they got that raise through.

12. Fun fact
If the average minimum wage had grown as much as the average CEO salary over the past five years, the minimum wage would now be $23 per hour.

13. As Jerry Seinfeld put it:
Minimum wage is an employer's way of saying, "We'd pay you less if we could."
