Bush fails to raise Jewish support
United States President George Bush has failed to win over any of the traditional Jewish backing for the Democrats, despite the unwavering White House support for Israel and a vigorous campaign by the Republican party.

In a poll released on Wednesday by the American Jewish Committee, Jewish voters preferred John Kerry to Bush by a margin of nearly three to one: 69% to 24%.

It is an improvement on Bush's 19% Jewish support in 2000 but well short of the Republicans' hope of 30%.

Although Jews form only 2% of the US population, they vote in great numbers, and are prominent in this year's battleground states -- Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania -- where their support could be pivotal.

2. Yes, we are good, but also smart...
We know well what a POS Bush is and most of us are smart enough to know not to vote for a bigot. I don't give a damn what his policy is toward Israel, and neither does most of the Jewish community. It is not what drives us to vote for ANY candidate. Although we care what happens to Israel, it is another country, and as such, does not have immediate impact on our lives.

5. Exactly.
I'm a Israel-supporting Jew who is not at all impressed by this fascist misadministration's apparently strong support for Israel:

(1) Clearly, this misadministration has only two (related) concerns in the middle east: oil, and their good buddies the House of Saud.

(2) The misadministration's strongest constituency belives that Jews (and all other non-Xtians) are destined to go to hell.

(3) Extremely un-Jewish domestic policies.

6. Being Jewish Doesn't Mean
- Support For any and all Israeli Government (especially Sharon)
- Israel over anything and everything...Israel is always right
- Fundamentalist Christians are "our friends"...yeah right
- Voting GOOP based on one issue that has many Jews in the U.S. conflicted...especially those of us Jews who aren't considered Jews since we're not orthodox or "religious" enough

The list could go on. Point is, the only Jews I know who support this regime are what I call the "self-hating" ones...arrogant, ignorant, selfish...your typical GOOP, not Jewish "traits"

9. The smart Jews realize *
would toss Israel aside in a second if it suited his purpose. And it's only because of his fundie supporters that he gives Sharon the time of day.

Although I am a strong supporter of Israel, I am an American citizen first and care about what's happening in THIS country. * is a disaster and must be beaten.
