just saw the new 527 ad
showing John Kerry windsurfing. How did that ever pass broadcast standards? From merely a production point of view, that was just about the worst thing I've ever seen on television, never mind the content.

I *guess* they are going for the youth vote, but this just shows how badly they misunderstand that market/demographic.

5. it is a 527... called "Progress for America" or something like that...
I saw on CNN that the Bush campaign also has a Kerry windsurfing ad out, but this one is different... it is not from the * campaign.

6. There are two ads with the same theme, phrase, and visual
In fact the Kerry campaign charged yesterday that it indicates collusion between BC04 and the 527.

3. Waste Of Time...
Broadcast standards? All that matters is the folding green.

I just saw the "spot" on CNNservative. Not sure who they're going after with this doggie. Hasn't this flip-flop meme already taken root? Why is there a need to hammer on this more unless it isn't really being believed...even within the GOOP hive.

7. I've seen them both.
The Bush campaign one is worse, IMO.

I was just laughing at it. "Like, Ohmigod! Kerry is like a total flip-flopper, dude!"

I think Jenna must have made that one, or Karen or whoever wrote the twins' convention speech.

10. It reminds me of an ad for fruit gum...
...from the 80's.

All I know is, after watching it, I'm voting for Reagan... :D

11. Saw it as a story on Headline News ...
under the story "Attack Ads", the show the ad in it's entirety. Then they show a Kerry ad. It critizies *'s handling of Iraq. When it reached the part that reads "Kerry has a plan", they end it.

If they're gonna show one ad completely, they should do the same for the other. The fuckers.

12. If this is the best that the Republicans can come up with,
Kerry should win in a landslide! I think they have shot their wad, having tried to smear Kerry with outrageous lies about his service in Vietnam and his attempts to end the war when he returned home.

Most people now see this crap for what it is IMO. The Republicans are showing more and more that they have nothing positive to run on. All they can do is try to smear Kerry, and instill fear of more attacks by terrorists. The war in Iraq was unnecessary, and it is becoming more of a disaster every day. Not only is the war going badly and our young people dying needlessly, but America is now seen by the world as an aggressive bully. Bush should resign in shame.

13. The Two Windsurfing Ads.
Both are idiotic in design and a show of desperation.

The one released by the RNC is a snapshot of the election. In reality John Kerry has stayed the same course, but the Republicans distort the record to show two directions. Fascinating how an RNC commercial designed to attack John Kerry actually shows their distortion of the facts.

The second one, released by a 527 group, featuring Kerry "wiping out in the end" is really pathetic. I can see that it's designed for my age group. Unfortunately, it's more suited for 9-12 year olds.

Strange how both have the same cut out of Kerry. Can someone say without a shadow of a doubt a campaign and a 527 working together ?

14. They just want to show him windsurfing..
because they're arrogant enough to think people will despise him for being into extreme sports. They think only an elitist would be into windsurfing. They're so convinced of it, they don't even care about the quality of the ad or anything else.

Ironic, isn't it? In their desperation to portray Kerry as out of touch, they are showing themselves to be completely out of touch.

15. The People Making The Ads For RNC/Bush Are RIPPING THEM OFF (Literally)
I guarantee they are taking a gob of money to make the ad, then skimping on everything and pocketing the rest. It's the Republican way after all...
