Here's the Press Conference Transcript
Besides the right track/wrong track bit of idiocy (Bush/Cheney 04: Almost as good here as it is in Fallujah!") there's THIS:
Q: Sir, I'd like you to answer Senator Kerry and other critics who accuse you of hypocrisy or opportunism when, on the one hand, you put so much stock in the CIA when it said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and now say it is just guessing when it paints a pessimistic picture of the political transition.
And I'd like to, if you don't mind, follow on something the prime minister just said. If General Abizaid says he needs more troops and the prime minister says he does not want more troops, who wins?
PRESIDENT BUSH: Well, let me talk to General Abizaid. As I said, he just came in to see me and I -- I want to make sure -- I'm not suggesting any of the reporters here might be taking something out of context. That would never happen in America. But nevertheless, I do want to sit down and talk to him about it. Obviously, we could work this out. I mean, it's in the -- if -- if our commanders on the ground feel it's in the interests of the Iraq citizens to provide more troops, we'll talk about it. That's why -- they're friends. That's what we do about friends."

3. John King's Question..
Bush quickly skirted the question.

Then after Allawi mentioned Osama Bin Laden (the unmentionable), Bush took over, spoke for 8 minutes and did not answer any more questions.

Anyone else watching the dual conference noticed Bush mention how 9/11 changed America's reality and made going after Saddam Hussien important (note: Bush never mentions Osama Bin Forgotten).

Isnt this a lie?

Nearly 100,000 fully trained and equipped Iraqi soldiers, police officers and other security personnel are working today, and that total will rise to 125,000 by the end of this year. The Iraqi government is on track to build a force of over 200,000 security personnel by the end of next year. With the help of the American military, the training of the Iraqi army is almost halfway complete. And in Najaf and other important areas, Iraqi military forces have performed with skill and success.

I thought the fully trained numbers were around 5k.

17. Rahm Emanuel just said on Crossfire a few minutes ago:
FIVE THOUSAND fully trained troops

five thousand

is that correct?

wouldn't they have pounced on him if it were not?

12. me too. or when the question has so many subordinate clauses...
you can't track what the actual question was.

Sometimes I think it's a cover, to give the pol enough time to gather his thoughts so he can answer with a semblance of coherence.

Hahahahaha! I just read what I wrote. Obviously if it's a ruse it doesn't work for everyone.

15. Afghan National Army in Iraq.
"The prime minister said something very interesting a while ago, and it's important for the American people to understand. Our strategy is to help the Iraqis help themselves. It's important that we train Iraqi troops. There are nearly 100,000 troops trained. The Afghan (sic) National Army is a part of the army. By the way, it was the Afghan (sic) National Army that went into Najaf and did the work there."

Well, they didn't have anything to do in Afghanistan...

16. Hold on for a minute!
Q Mr. President?

PRESIDENT BUSH: Hold on for a minute! Hold on for a minute, please, please. We've got other people from -- God damn it! - hold on for a second -- from Iraq.

Q From the Al-Arabiya --

PRESIDENT BUSH: Are you from Iraq?

Q No, Al-Arabiya.

PRESIDENT BUSH: What the heck is that? Don't tell me you guys started another darn country over there. (Chuckles)

Q It's a satellite TV station. We're in the United Arab Emirates.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Is that in Iraq? I can't keep all this stuff - these names straight. (Guffaws) Okay. No, hold on for a second. Don't make me come down there now. (Grins) We need people from Iraq first, please. One journalist from Iraq. (Chuckles.) Don't tell me nobody woke up the guy from Iraq. You're not from Iraq, Alan. Neither are you, Elizabeth. I can tell because of your -- Well, I can tell, let's just leave it at that. (Chortles)

Q Give Al-Arabiya --

PRESIDENT BUSH: I'll give Al-Arabiya something all right. Okay, the guy from Iraq didn't show? Probably out praying or something. Not the same God we got, but hey, we'll bring 'em around yet. (Winks) I love the Iraqs. They kid me, I kid them. Is anybody here from CBS? Dan? (Cackles) Roberts, there you are. Please.

Q (Off mike) -- to be here.

PRESIDENT BUSH: Happy to be here. (Chuckles.) Thank you. (Farts) Take that, Zarwaqi, Zarqawi, however you say it. Be a lot easier these guys got American names. (Winks, Chortles, Chuckles) Just kidding. Come on, Folks, lighten up, these are the (Raises Leg, Farts Again) jokes.

Q Sir, you've --

PRESIDENT BUSH: Terry, (Squeezes Honk Out of Bozo Nose) you're next.

for sending an imbecile to do a moron's job.

Have they come up with a "he really meant to say"
on the polls business yet? He really meant to say,
"Iraqis are better off than Americans were four years ago."

27. It would be a lot funnier if people weren't dying and being maimed
because of this fuckwit....

Here's an e-mail I sent to MSNBC this afternoon in response to their question of the day about who can "handle Iraq better."

If Bush could handle it better, the situation wouldn't be out of control in the first place. I'm not encouraged today to hear MORE money is going to Halliburton via the rathole that has become Iraq.

And I'd love to know how a "leader" who disobeyed a direct order to pee in a cup in Alabama when he was avoiding a shooting war in the National Guard is going to inspire MORE troops to risk their lives in a war. Especially a war that he declared "ended" a year and a half ago, during his masquerade party on that aircraft carrier.

So the "Right Track/Wrong Track" polls track better in Fallujah than they do in Fort Wayne, as the President said today? Well, when occupied people in the middle of a war zone are more content with the direction of their country than folks here in the land of the free and the home of the brave, it is definitely time for a different hand on the tiller of the ship of state. Especially when the current Oval Office occupant cannot distinguish the Afghan army from the Iraqi army while standing next to the puppet ruler of Iraq, discussing the situation in Iraq.

See, I think that the Iraq theater is a part of the war on terror. That's what the prime minister said as well; he believes the same thing. He understands what's going on there, after all, he lives there.
