Saddam did support terrorist groups. He actually offered shelter to Iranian anti-mullah groups that were trying to de-stabilize the Iranian theocracy. It gets even better, the group did actually receive support from the US, til couple of years ago when they were labeled a terror group. Prior to that there were labeled as freedom fighters.

The support of such group was one of the main reasons why Osama had actually denounced Saddam as a heretic bloodsucker. Making the supposedly relationship between Saddam and Al-Qaida less than likely, after all Osama had called in several occasions for Saddam's head on a plater.

Tell that to your freeper friend and watch his little head explode.
