3. Schneider is paid to voice his opinions. That's his job.
I rarely agree with him, but just ign;re him, the same as I ignore Novak, Carlson, and most of the rest of 'em.

5. Fine. But there's such a thing as Full Disclosure. If he's paid to give
his opinions, then he should be CLEAR and UP-FRONT about where those opinions come from, and how they slant. If nothing else, he should be intro'ed on the air as "conservative pollster Bill Schneider." Because he IS. Frank Luntz, the COP pollster, is frequently intro'ed that way on MSNBC. It's up-front that he's a republi-CON operative. They make no attempt to sneak that one by anybody.

The problem at CNN ("THE problem?!?!? Just one of MANY MULTITUDES of them!!!) is that they make NO effort whatsoever to be honest about Schneider, that he's from the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think-tank and manipulation machine. They portray him in such a way that it's assumed he's just a pollster not coming from any particular bias, or any particularly biased organization, and that he's independent. HE IS ANYTHING BUT!!!!!!!!!!

9. Not Really
Schneider is not presented as a partisan, the way Begala, Novak and Carlson are. He's presented as a poll expert. If they are going to allow him to interject his opinion they should either put a disclaimer on the screen, "Member of the right wing American Enterprise Institute" or they should have a left leaning commentator on with him. It's discraceful.

6. Here's mine
and thanks for the link....

I really am appalled at Bill Schneider’s “reporting” for your network, especially his recent report that said al Qaeda wants Bush defeated in his bid for election. First, Mr. Schneider has no way of substantiating his claims that al Qaeda follows American politics, nor that “they would very much like to defeat” Bush. More than that, though, it had no place in this report and it only repeats the same tired, right-wing line Kelli Arena tried to pass off to unsuspecting viewers as “fact” a few months ago.

Is it that hard for CNN to report facts to its viewers? Was your network not lazy enough before the war, when it served as stenographer to the administration in reporting fabricated tales about weapons of mass destruction? And isn’t it true that the Bush administration is now 0 for 5000 in attempts to convict alleged terrorists after September 11th? That is a damning fact you can report, and report honestly, if you didn’t spend your time filling the air with opinion posing as news from a reporter who pretends to be objective but merely repeats the slanders that come out of Cheney’s mouth.

For shame, CNN. You once kept us informed and you were once the most trusted name in news. Now you are a caricature of a news organization.

8. what about Leslie's ridiculous performance yesterday, re: CBS vs.
Niger forgeries?

I read a bit about that yesterday, and it sounded like it would have been impossible to sink any lower than that

I find Schneider to be usually less nauseating than Blitzer, though this incident is pretty bad
