what are people doing on selection night?
Just curious - are people having "throw the bum out" parties, or are most of us planning to share our agony and ecstacy (hopefully the latter) online?

1. Unless it's a landslide...
it's going to be a long election night. I'm thinking at least 6 weeks, where we won't be able to stop talking about Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, and Colorado. It won't be pretty.

5. I plan the night of November 2nd
To be one of the most wild drunks I have ever had. I am going to be celebrating a victory partially for John Kerry but mostly for every American who has been fighting all this time to get rid of that Son of a Bitch. And should we fall short, I will get drunk in anticipation of the civil unrest to come. Its ALL good.

If we have 200 electorates when we get to Texas then we have won!!
The magic 200 I call it

Because California is 55, OR 7 WA 10 and HI 3
that would put us over the top NM is 4 that is icing on the cake!!!

9. I'm planning on having a small group of friends over.
We'll drink, smoke, eat, etc.

I'll have an Electoral Map on an easel in the living room next to the television. The computer will have DU constantly on.

If the results are good, we party all night long. If they're bad, we cry and cry and cry over the shape of the Supreme Court to-come. Either way, we're going to get really stinkin' drunk that night.

On the first day of the semester, I arranged to have off from school on November 3rd. I suspect it'll be a nice day. :)

17. We're having an easel up too!!
And we're gonna color in BLUE as they come in. Ill be working the phones all that day till the polls close, for my local DNC, then it's party, party, party, sweat, clench fists, worry, pray.

Drunk doesnt come near describing it. :toast:

We're getting a bottle of the best champagne, probably gonna splurge on Dom Perignon, but save it till they declare Kerry the WINNER! But they'll be mucho drinks before that. If it all goes bad (and it WONT!) I will be the weepiest, saddest drunk in NYS. Hell, I was crying when I went to bed at 2:47am on Election Night 2000, my last words being 'you have no idea how things are going to change'.

I dont even WANT to think about what this place will be like if....I cant even say it.
:kick:

18. In 2002..
I went to bed earrrly. And the thing that killed me? The GOP pretty much needed to run the table to reclaim the senate. That slayed me. I was convinced that the Supreme Court was f*cked. Thank goodness I was wrong.

I think I will be totally beside myself if Bush is called and
on guard from the evildoers and their wrath if its Kerry.
More Disaster is coming for sure from a Bush selection but the Kerry win is scary too ! today Bush said Iraq was in good shape or words to that effect compared to America. YEt everything is rosy. Well Baghdad is Burning ! Idiot.......Where does that put America !

20. Guzzling the bottle of champagne
that we bought to celebrate Al Gore's victory. It has been sitting in the fridge for four long, hideous years. I don't care if it's turned to vinegar or worse. It will taste like nectar of the gods.

24. Be careful!
I had a bottle of two-year old champagne just to clear out some of the old alcohol before my move last year (it was for 2001, the "real" start of the new millennium, thought it might be a collector's item or some damn thing), and BOY, was I :puke: the next day.

And I almost never :puke:.

however,
due to the uncertainty of the evening's traipse across time
I will be having champagne available (for the landslide)
but DO NEED SUGGESTIONS
for a very dark and evil drink
should the outcome be different
or be contested

31. Home Alone
As of today I plan to be home with my computer on, a radio on in the kitchen and TV tuned to CBS. Oh let me add, I'll yell some prayers, light my candles, cross my fingers and do whatever I can find to put a curse on Shrub. This is my daughter's and son's future that is at risk here. I'll do whatever I need to do. I plan to be alone so I can scream, kick, yell or whatever.

This dumbnut has to go. Maybe I'll make myself a Shrub dartboard and throw darts that night.

it affecting our grade, so I am saving it for election night. There is no way I could sit through class!
