Washington Post Sends B/C a Warning
Tying Kerry to Terror Tests Rhetoric's Limits

By Dana Milbank
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, September 24, 2004; Page A06

President Bush and leading Republicans are increasingly charging that Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry and others in his party are giving comfort to terrorists and undermining the war in Iraq -- a line of attack that tests the conventional bounds of political rhetoric.

1. Wow, WaPo awakes from coma and discovers its spine...................
and as for BushCo, those fascists are using code-speak as a prelude to charging anyone who opposes the administration with TREASON. "Providing aid and comfort to the enemy" is pretty explicit. What are we all going to do when Ashcroft indicts the entire Democratic contingent of Congress for treason? The bastards are telegraphing their intentions, and we ignore it at our own peril.

2. Where was all this patriotism and "support the Commander in Chief"
when Clinton was president? We had a war then - one that is still going on, although nobody seems to remember Bosnia.

4. The last paragraph..
"Whatever the merits, the charges that terrorists prefer Democrats have been echoed by independent commentators and journalists. CNN analyst Bill Schneider, asked about Hastert's remarks, agreed that al Qaeda "would very much like to defeat President Bush."

I SAY...HOW THE HELL DOES bill schneider KNOW?

Especially, when it's not even true..bush has been a veritible training ground for terrorists.

Could it be bill is lyin' through his Ass?

10. I think Cheney has a direct line to Al Qaida and they do
whatever he tells them to do. Conan O'Brien said "Cheney said if you vote for Kerry, we'll get hit again, but if you vote for us, I'll call it off". I think Conan hit the nail on the head.

6. John Kerry should make the very clear statement that Bush
WILL NOT PROTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE and yet he has the gall to send their children to DIE IN HIS OIL WAR!

12. "test the limits"
A postmodern phrase meaning "expand the discourse, expand the limits, there are no limits."

Read Anne Applebaum's syndicated column in the Post/elsewhere about how as a postmodern Gen-Xer, she doesn't care about the truth or falsity of Dan Rather's news show, because network news is irrelevant. It's too pompous, pretending to know what is and isn't true. She prefers to watch obviously biased news on cable, and says so. Not believing in truth or falsehood leaves one with a galling need to know the bias of the reporter. That's what's wrong with these f*kin' gen-X fascists.
