Former US President Bush Defends His Son
"I bring you greetings," Bush told the crowd. "My first greetings are from Dan Rather," he said, drawing light cheers and scattered boos at the mention of the CBS News anchor's name.

He tried again -"I bring you greetings from Michael Moore," inciting even more boos.

The third greeting, from Barbara Bush, prompted an eruption of applause.

Bush said the president is not one for posturing or complaining during difficult times.

"I never heard him whine once about the difficult job he's got," the former president said. "He just gets on about his business. He calls his shots as he sees them. If he makes a mistake, fine. But the American people know where he stands."

May I respectfully disagree sir. If he makes a mistake, PEOPLE DIE!!

Yes, the American people know where he stands: up to his eyeballs in shit.

2. Yes we know where he stands ...
and if you had made him stand by the wood pile a few more times, maybe we wouldn't be were we are now Poppa. If you had taught him to control his violent tendencies as a child, we might feel a bit safer Poppa.

Poppa... can YOU hear me?

3. If Kennedy made a mistake during the Cuban Missile Crisis,
only cockroaches and Republicans would currently reside on Earth.

4. Poppy's own words
We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under the circumstances, there was no viable "exit strategy" we could see, violating another of our principles. Furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations' mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different — and perhaps barren — outcome.

15. Two Bushies give YOU the finger!
This president is not going to put his finger in the wind to see how it's blowing, see what the editorial page says," the elder Bush said. "He's going to lead the country without flinching one single bit."
