2. it is odd that Bill Gates is on the bush list. His father was very vocal
in denouncing bush's taxcuts for the elite. Plus Bill Gates and his wife give heavily to 'greater good' causes - this does not seem to be a Republican trait.

4. This doesn't necessarily mean he's Republican ...
This doesn't necessarily mean that Gates is Republican. He's been having lots of government troubles lately. I assume he thinks that Bush will win, so apparently he doesn't want to have the added trouble of having donated to the losing side in an election on top of the antitrust goings on.

7. In Bill Gates' case
it's nothing but pure bribery.

The Bush administration basically dropped most of the charges introduced earlier. Ashcroft and the DOJ in this administration have been very kind to him.

In exchange, Gates gave him 2000 bucks.

The way I see it, Bill Gates can go to hell. He may give money to good causes but if he's giving money to Bush, peace and global security are obviously secondary priorities to him.

Of course, he could also be a much cheaper bastard than his dad.

Kerry & Bush $2000. I wonder about the credibility of the poster's list.

Where's the link or source to the poster's info?

Edit: I could find several contributions from Ballmer to repugs. But only about 1 in 250 microsoft employees listed contributed to republican affiliations. Hundreds of contributions were to Democrat orgs.

He endorsed * in 2000 because of his economic policy... but he has to be concerned about the deficit, considering he was against deficits in '92.

15. Sanford Weill is a creep of the highest order
I used to work at Citibank, a few years ago, and this guy was one of the idiots that came along during the Travelers takeover, which was told to Citibank employess was a 'merger'. Next thing we know, it's a takeover, Citibank people out on their ass, he pushed John Reed out the door and takes over the whole place, then downsizes it to such a point, practically everyone I knew lost their job. I was surrounded with empty desks. Luckily I got the f**k out on my own and found something else.

Doesnt surprise me one whit he donated to the Smirk.

Bloomberg, that asshat, he's a donkey in elephant's clothing. He changed parties JUST to run for mayor. He's a JOKE.

Im surprised at Speilberg and Gates, Oprah is a repug.

Billionaires for Bush - 116
By: Jonathan Salant
Bloomberg News

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

President George W. Bush received donations from 79 percent of the U.S. billionaires who contributed to a presidential campaign this year, while Democrat John Kerry was backed by 21 percent, a study says.
Bush received contributions from 116 billionaires, including Bill Gates, chairman of Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft Corp., who was listed by Forbes magazine as the world's richest person, and Frederick Smith, chief executive of FedEx Corp., according to PoliticalMoneyLine, which tracks campaign donations.

Kerry got donations from 31 billionaires, including Warren Buffett, chairman of Omaha- based Berkshire Hathaway Inc., and the world's second- richest person; Eli Broad, chairman of AIG SunAmerica Inc., a subsidiary of New York-based American International Group Inc.; and David Geffen, co-founder of Glendale, Calif.-based DreamWorks SKG, a movie studio.

Republicans often outscore Democrats in fund raising among corporate executives.

The 58-year-old Bush has 280 CEOs from Russell 1000 index companies, to 52 for the 60-year-old Kerry, a four-term Massachusetts senator, according to PoliticalMoneyLine, a nonpartisan group based in Washington.

Kerry, who accepted the Democratic presidential nomination last week, released a list of 204 executives who endorse his economic policies.

Of the 277 U.S. billionaires identified by Forbes magazine, 153 gave to a candidate, including six who gave to both Bush and Kerry.

Those giving to both candidates included Charles Dolan, chairman of Bethpage, N.Y.- based Cablevision Systems Corp.; and Donald Trump, chief executive officer of Atlantic City, N.J.-based Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts.

Another 124 billionaires, or 45 percent of the total, gave to neither candidate, including Ted Turner, the founder of Cable News Network and a former vice chairman of New York-based Time Warner Inc.; Roy Disney, chairman of Shamrock Holdings Inc. and a former director of the Walt Disney Co., founded by his uncle; and Forrest Mars Jr., chairman of Mars Inc.

"I'm always surprised at the separation of the business world from politics in a number of wealthy people," said Kent Cooper, co- founder of PoliticalMoneyLine. "To them, politics is a different world, and the business mind has a hard time understanding how politics works."

Kerry has the support of two billionaires who did not give to either presidential campaign: Steve Jobs, chief executive officer of Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple Computer Inc., and Barry Diller, chairman of New York-based IAC/InterActiveCorp, an Internet commerce and television shopping company.

A Kerry campaign spokesman declined to comment.

Calls to the Bush campaign were not returned.

Wealthy donors

116 Number of billionaires who made donations this year to President Bush.

31 Number of billionaires who made donations this year to Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

6 Number of billionaires who made donations this year to both Bush and Kerry.

" I vote for what's good for Viacom"

(he didn't add F--K America)

Guess Who's a GOP Booster?
The CEO of CBS's parent company endorses President Bush.

Friday, September 24, 2004 12:01 a.m. EDT

From The Asian Wall Street Journal

With the scandal at CBS still festering, questions are being raised about whether a felony was committed when the network broadcast apparently forged memos in an attempt to discredit George W. Bush. Yesterday, the chairman of CBS's parent company chose Hong Kong as a place to drop a little bomb. Sumner Redstone, who calls himself a "liberal Democrat," said he's supporting President Bush.

The chairman of the entertainment giant Viacom said the reason was simple: Republican values are what U.S. companies need. Speaking to some of America's and Asia's top executives gathered for Forbes magazine's annual Global CEO Conference, Mr. Redstone declared: "I look at the election from what's good for Viacom. I vote for what's good for Viacom. I vote, today, Viacom.
