CBS' Jim Axlerod Report - Bush vs Kerry as flip flopper...
This report hit on something that we must all grasp, understand and utilize in our campaigns.

More or less, Axelrod reported that when it comes to flip flops, Bush is teflon and Kerry is velcro and that this is because language experts have picked up on that in a world of "fast food" everything, Bush's speech patterns and methods work much better than Kerry's long and descriptive statements. Now I'm not saying this is right or fair, but dammit, we must start fighting under this realization.

We don't have to become them, only learn to fight more effectively...

3. We don't have to...
cater to them, just fight more effectively....and we can do it.....the sad thing is that the damn conservatives have had a head start on us.

For example, before I quit watching Hardball for good, they had a woman congressman from California that gave us a great tool....she said, we need a "coalition of the capable, not coalition of the willing"....that is beautiful....and we should be spouting..."Coalition of the capable" all day long...

2. That's bullshit--the media decide on a script, and then they work it

Facts don't matter. It doesn't matter if Gore lied, so long as you say that he did. It doesn't matter if Naomi Wolf told Gore to wear earth tones, so long as you jackhammer that into people's skulls. It doesn't matter if Kerry's 'flip flops' are unremarkable, so long as you pretend that they are. If something is said enough, people believe it. That doesn't make it true.

4. Teflon vs Velcro
Agreed - Both Bush And the networks know that more than half
the people in this country have an IQ as low as his, which is
why is simpleton comments receive great play every day.
Meanwhile, Kerry has a sharp brain, all of us understand the
complexities of his message, but we're in the minority.

I've felt from the beginning that Rove employs a 50/50
strategy to deal with everything, and the news media falls for
it every time - for example, the Swift Boat liars made the
Bush vs Kerry military service issue a 50/50 issue for all the
dumb people, because the media led the way. The CNN I used to
know is gone - they play the ads often, even though they must
know in their hearts that it's all a bunch of lies...competing
with Fox is tough these days, eh?
