Bush has impaled himself on the Iraq debacle
No one I know ever talks politics anymore. Even the pro Bushies at work are silent. (yes, baby, in Atlanta). The one fence sitter has made up his mind not to vote Bush (oddly on the economy, not the war).

The big war game is blew up in their face like a prank cigar.

Kerry is killing them on it. Kerry devastated them today and Bush and Cheney both ran to the defense, weakly, I might add. Bush - "Oops, I picked the wrong word"; Cheney "How dare he speak against us".

The CBS attack is flopping because everyone know that Bush got preferential treatment, plus that have no explanation for where the docs came from, ultimately. This was the dumbest dirty trick ever. It was always going to be apparent that it was a dirty trick. I still say its a slight win for Kerry because under it all, it let you know that Bush is a spoiled rich cheater.

The Osama capture will wrap up the entire relevance of Bush. It will be like "OK, that nightmare of a term is over and there is no need for Bush anymore." He has already proven himself a failure on Iraq, regardless of Osama.

These guys boiled too fast. The frog jumped the pot a long time ago. The shit they polish ain't selling. Yeah Paula Zahn, sure, the soccer moms don't care about education and healthcare anymore, they care about security. BWAAAAAAH! Don't think so. They don't give a fuck about a failed war and thanks to the beheadings and daily bombings, we can now yawn at the prospect of terror. You can only stay scared for so long before you say "Fuck it, what happens happens". I'm more fearful of my diet than I am of Arabists.

In fact I turn CNN off now. Why should I waste my beautiful mind on that crap. People are tired of worry and they are just tuning out and realizing that reality is far more enjoyable than the panic they try to sell on cable news.

Oh yeah, and Cat Stevens blew up in their face too. Should have chosen someone else to pick on. The Megalomaniacs are too far out of touch with reality to pull this thing off.

"Like father, like son, one term and he's done."

1. Wow! I like your Osama take
You may be right about that. An October 'Osama Surprise' could backfire on them in the way you describe. What would they need him for? Their only option would be something like "we're getting REALLY close to Osama but you need to re-elect us so we can get him" or something but I think that would look incredibly obvious.

2. Suddenly talk about Osama in October?
That would be a pitiful ploy.

Surely they have something more impressive than that.

3. Nice, post
Thanks I love your Osama take and I totally agree.

Even repubs are pissed about the Saudi/Bush connection. They don't understand why their hero would cozy up to brown people in robes.

Their own intolerance is making them question Bush, and F 9/11 sure does help.

Catching Osama can't help them now.

Ha, Ha, Ha

9. Osama Surprise?
you bet, and add "OIL Surprise" to the list

betcha we see a big drop in oil prices over the next couple of weeks

and then a big jump in prices after Nov. 2

Prediction: Nov. 3rd spin on Oil Price jump
--if bush* wins (heaven forbid) price jump will be blamed on market volitility

--if Kerry wins - price jump will be blamed on nervous investors fearing the worse, lack of market confidence in Kerry's abilities

winning war ????

and remember the Brits fired Churchill after WW2 as well.

'war president's' aren't as popular as they themselves believe.

Until today I only had a vague idea of what that meant. I sure understand it now. :)

8. Iraq is a mess
you know it, the media knows it, Kerry-Edwards knows it and bush* inc. knows it better than anyone

but bush* has backed himself into a corner. It's pretty obvious that a change of direction regarding Iraq and 'terra' war is needed. However, bush* has painted himself as being 'steadfast' and 'resolute' so to change direction at this point in time would give the appearance that he made a 'mistake'

so rather than admit there are problems and mistakes -- he's detemined to "stay the course" even if that course means more dead, more wounded, more abductions, more beheadings, and more terra-attacks.

let's face it - the mess in Iraq and it's probability of becoming a bigger mess has people nervous and scared -- but this is the only thing bush* has going for him in an election year. He can't run on any of his accomplishments without risking exposure as ripping-off America -- so he has to run on fear
