Vandalizing Kerry campaign signs seems a small matter, but...
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 03:36 AM by DeepModem Mom
It's not enough that a media dedicated to the election of George Bush is making it virtually impossible for the opposition party in what is supposed to be a democracy to wage a Presidential campaign -- now self-appointed censors across the nation appear to be invading peoples' private property, and stealing/defacing signs, damaging cars with Kerry bumperstickers, etc. These fanatics are impeding the course of an election campaign, and revoking citizens' rights to express political opinion.

They are anti-American thugs, who should be ashamed of themselves -- and the Party and candidate they represent should be ashamed of their association with them.

"Traitor. The word is spelled out in big, black letters. It's spray-painted over Kerry-Edwards campaign signs in neighborhoods all over town." (Tucson)

1. Yes, they are Nazi tactics, but we say something else.

Say: They are stealing our signs like they plan to steal our votes.

Link the acts. People turn off at the word Nazi. They think, wrongly, that it's too extreme a description. So don't use Nazi. Besides, it's the Republicans you want to link to wrongdoing. However Nazi it was in the past, fascists are called Republicans now.

2. Ahem,
But then the other side does this too.

I saw a Bush/Cheney testosterone sign (huge over-compensatory my-dick-is-bigger-than-yours sign) ripped in half this morning.

Dude, that part of this election is the LEAST alarming to me. Vote-rigging scares me much more than ratfucking signage on both sides. What can we do to make this election as fair as possible. That's what I wanna know.

6. The repigs try to stifle any opposing view
they are so afraid to have anyone disagree with them. It's not enough to try and beat you but they want to make sure that you don't even publicly state your opinion even with a sign or bumper-sticker, doesn't seem like much a free country anymore. x(
