Alright, a couple more debate questions from Bush
for us to answer. These are important.

One, c/o Tweety:

Hey, Kerry, YOU'RE the one who voted AGAINST the first Iraq war, even though they invaded another country AND we had a massive coalition. What's your problem? You don't know what you want.

And the second, which kind of occurred to me while I was watching O'Neill:

You know, my opponent John Kerry almost seems to be HOPING for things to go bad in Iraq, just so he can get elected. No real American would root against our troops just for his own selfish reasons.

Now, my answer to the second question is:

Well, Bush, you're the one that's hoping for another terrorist attack on our own soil so that people will vote for YOU.

But, as far as the first question, I don't know.

1. here's one for the "town hall" debate
"Mr. pResident, Polls following the September 30th debate show you are falling behind -- will you declare a terrorist alert during this debate, immediately following this debate or wait a couple of days?"

3. If I was running and was challenged with the second statement
I would respond with something like:

"First off, given this administrations countless failures in Iraq, the very notion that I or my Democratic colleagues are hoping for things to go bad in Iraq is not only offensive, it is also completely absurd.

Second, I think it should be pointed out that things are bad in Iraq, right now. It is regretable, I admit. But I do not relish in the daily death tolls nor do I watch with interst as innocent people are being killed in a war based on misinformation, distortions, and outright lies by this adminstration.

It almost makes me wonder, Mr. President, why exactly you would be accusing someone like me of rooting against our troops, who are fighting bravely in Iraq as we speak. Let us not forget that you threatened to veto a bill last October that would have provided necessities such as body armor for our troops. This very motion was voted down by every single Republican in the Senate.

To be quite frank, your record as President and your record as Commander in Chief are quite sameful and are an embarassment to the nation.

The most offensive part of all of this is, in an effort to look solid and unwavering, you recently stated that, knowing what you know now, you would have done everything regarding Iraq, the buildup to war, and the aftermath exactly the same as you have.

Mr. President, what message are you trying to send to our troops, who are dying daily because of your failed policies?

4. Answer
"I want America to have a coherent, realistic long term strategy in support of peace in the middle east. The use of military force may indeed be necessary but we need to be very judicious about the commitment of American troops.

"The current situation in Iraq is a telling example of the danger of short-sighted, reflexive military action--and half-baked planning. My administration will pursue terrorists relentlessly but support the stability of moderate, responsible regimes committed to a vision of peace and progess in the region."

or some such
