Anyone just see Kerry and Bernard Hopkins ?
getting off the campaign plane in Philadelphia? How cool was that. Hopkins had his championship belts with him. MSNBC claims they're going to have rally live.

11. Wow! That's Super Cool!
I've never heard his name but I've been a little busy.

Check those Belts! Kerry looks good with him.

Wonder what the media has to say about that?

6. Interesting ...
... earlier this week Kerry was photog'd with Grant Hill of the NBA ... aiming for the African-American male 18-30 recognition ...

Very good strategy.
Goddess knows Georgie wouldn't shoot hoops in da' hood if he was invited.

Kerry probably would. Edwards, too. :)

7. Kerry should.....
have tried dunking on Grant Hill.
Not THAT would be GREAT.

Next thing you know you would see Bush try to beat Dale Earnheart jr. in a race.

8. most sports figures supporting Kerry seem to be African American
i don't watch sports but i'm pretty sure the fan base is diverse and i'm hoping it appeals to many people. at the very least it could help increase turnout among one of the democratic bases (black males).

9. I agree with you but my point is...
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 09:46 PM by Myrina
18-30 year old African American males (who tend to overwhelmingly NOT vote, and who have the most at stake under King George) are more likely to identify with (and therefore take note of Kerry appearing with) Grant Hill and the boxer, than say ... Brett Favre or Tony Stewart.

10. oh, great point
yeah, they could help bring attention to Kerry and hopefully get them to register and vote. while most young black males will vote for Kerry it is true that most young black males don't vote at all and they are some of the ones most hurt by Bush.
