Kerry just handled an AIDs activist magnificently...
He spoke right to him and told him he'd address his concerns because he wrote major legislation regarding a cure three years ago...

4. What? No supporters beating the guy up?
No goons dragging him away in 'cuffs?

That's not very "presidential" at all, now is it?

If he even got close enough, the SS would "disapear" him.

8. That was the most amazing segue I have ever seen
He spoke--totally unfettered on what he would do to really fight a war on AIDS, as well as what he would do in the larger context of the situation of the poor nations in the world (debt relief) and then very adeptly returned to his comments on terrorism.

Totally on key.
Who's worried about the debates?

9. He sure did.
and notice....NO ONE was dragged out by their hair, or wrestled to the floor and kicked, or taken away in a paddy wagon. Free Speech works for Kerry. It's the Hitlers of the world it doesn't work for.

Maybe it should happen MORE often, know what I mean?
Besides, I would love it to be 'exposed'. They would have to show the clip, wouldn't they...Kerry looking strong and intelligent.

edit; please advise where this happened so I can look for it on CSPAN.
Thanks

17. Kerry has something the chimp is
missing -- a brain that works. The reason the goon squad descends on and removes any anti-chimp protestors that infiltrate his supporters-only appearances is that he doesn't have the verbal skills or the knowledge to defend himself. He can't do anything other than deliver the standard stump speech. Pathetic.

19. It really IS pathetic. It amazes me how anyone
as inarticulate, as devoid of common sense or decency as Scrub, manages to wrangle himself into the most powerful position in the world.

Of course he is, self-admittedly, a media creation and that same media is fighting tooth and nail to keep him in power. Why Americans fall for it is what's more puzzling to me.

18. Was it a "Clinton" moment?
I missed it, but from the posts it reminds me of that time during the 1996 race when a camera caught an anti-abortion woman screaming at Bill Clinton during a campaign stop. They showed him walk over to her, talk for a few moments, and concluded with him embracing her.

It was the Big Dog at his best.

20. Not that it matters at all but do you think it was set up?
 I hope not because that is all the GOP would need at this point is evidence that Kerry fakes his interactions with people in the crowd. I hope this was just a straight forward encounter but I am getting awful cynical lately. Too much stratagery going on.

even if it were staged (which I doubt) considering that Bush's crowds are ALL props.... Loyalty oaths, etc. I'm sure he has tons of props on a daily basis.

28. no...the activist interrupted once
was addressed by Kerry to "wait a few minutes" with the mention of the legislation and then he interrupted again. Kerry and the people on the stage were sort of straining to hear what was happening...

21. I love the way Kerry deals with this stuff
He's dealt with a couple of hecklers lately in such a masterful way - acknowledging their concerns and turning it around to point out how Bush is not addressing them.

He is so articulate and so obviously able to think on his feet and that other idiot can't walk and chew gum at the same time - I can't imagine how anyone can take him seriously.

It was one of the most graceful, deft responses I have ever heard. Very few politicians would be able to pull that off. I think it speaks volumes about Kerry's maturity.

35. "Calm" and "Empathy" -
- two words that will never be used in the same lifetime as George W. Bush. He's nervous as a whore in a church, and is incapable of any human feeling other than a sneering smirk at his own amazingfulness.
