12. They will be doing that anyway & keep the Sham Elections
Actually, Imperial Amerika will more likely have the curious feature of changing Emperors every 8 years to keep the sham going.

In the on-deck circle: Emperor Jeb
Emperor Ahnold becvause they need someone compliant and beholden who isn't named Bush.

Watch.

2. Did I miss the election?
Do we just not vote but instead turn on the TV 2 C election results IF we had been allowed 2 vote?

I swear CNN is getting worse by the hour!

Welcome to the "No Rose-Colored Glasses" contingent at DU

Thanks.
I began to take all the shit personally, but then had a moment of clarity. Change has to come from within, and success or no success when I finally put my head down on the pillow tonight I'll at least know I gave it a shot.

The frigging "lay down" that we did in CA with regards to the recall was the straw that broke the camels back for me. We've got the Prima Donna's of the DNC out here....Boxer, Feinstein, and Pelosi for gawdsakes, and we push Cruz Bustamonte to face Arnold?

A third party will not work as has been proven, so I'm stuck with what we have for now. It really pisses me off that the DNC apparently has learned no lessons from 2000 other than it pays to have lawyers with suitcases packed.

Being close to certain political figures in CA, I'm really beginning to wonder what the real agenda is. The man I was with tonight had his own strong feelings about this whole 60 minutes mess, the timing with the "new hires" for the campaign team, and 2008. This guy and his family have been big D pols for years. Funny thing is, he had told me over a year ago that no matter who took the primary, it was destined to failure. I laughed at that thought back then but now I'm seriously beginning to wonder. We had an interesting evening to say the least.

Thanks for your words.

17. As Jon Stewart pointed out last night ...
the only one wearing rose colored glasses is * and that is why it is so appropriate that he conducts the limited press conferences in the rose garden.

I wasn't disappointed. Anymore Kingdom commercials on CNN lately?

8. I don't know why you're still watching them, but they're probably right:

These numbers change daily & don't really mean much, however.

9. Wisconsin
The Wisconsin poll was done by Badger and is so far off every other poll on Wisconsin. The biggest lead * has over Kerry in the other polls is 5 points and some polls are almost tied.

11. A good article on push polling from this site
http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/aug04/255181.asp

also, 20 questions any journalist should ask about any poll they see:

http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/aug04/255181.asp

Who did the poll?

Who paid for the poll and why was it done?

How many people were interviewed for the survey?

How were those people chosen?

What area (nation, state, or region) or what group(teachers, lawyers, Democratic voters, etc.) were these people chosen from?

Are the results based on the answers of all the people interviewed?

Who should have been interviewed and was not? Or do response rates matter?

When was the poll done?

How were the interviews conducted?

What about polls on the Internet or World Wide Web?

What is the sampling error for the poll results?

Who’s on first?

What other kinds of factors can skew poll results?

What questions were asked?

In what order were the questions asked?

What about "push polls?"

What other polls have been done on this topic? Do they say the same thing? If they are different, why are they different?

What about exit polls?

What else needs to be included in the report of the poll?

So I've asked all the questions. The answers sound good. Should we report the results?

13. This guy apparently supports Kerry
http://www.electoral-vote.com/info/welcome.html

"I am a Kerry supporter. I am open about that. Despite my political preference, I have bent over backwards to be scrupulously honest about all the numbers, and have carefully designed the main page to be strictly nonpartisan. Only the third row of menu items below the map contains material that could be considered pro-Kerry (e.g., jokes about George Bush). If you are a Kerry supporter, an independent, a moderate Republican who is fed up with the President's fiscal and other policies or even a conservative Republican who feels betrayed and who has a sense of humor, you will probably enjoy them. If you want an election site that has a pro-Bush bias from beginning to end, including all over the main page, try www.electionprojection.com. "

14. MSNBC Claims...
...that 88 percent of those polled answered "no" when they asked people if they thought opinion polls accurately reflected actual opinions.

Story is right here.

16. Sounds like an Onion poll.
That sounds like something off of the Onion.com--88 percent of those polled think polls aren't accurate. Isn't that a catch 22 situation? What is next? 95 percent of those polled think people who respond to polls are morons?
