When I was doing the door-to-door campaigning (m)
the people who said national security was the most important issue were voting for Bush. The people who said the economy and/or the war were the most important issues were voting for Kerry.

If Kerry loses it will be because bush, cheney, et al have brainwashed people into thinking that they are making the world safer.

I don't know how people can objectively believe that if they see the truth, but the truth must get out there.

1. I have found the same thing
when doing phone banking.... Odd that people think Shrubbie is somehow keeping us "safer." Personally, I'm more afraid of him and Uncle Dickie than I am of any terrorist...

2. I'm afraid both of them and their policies
that are making the middle east a breeding ground for terrorism. I do not see how anyone who truly thinks things through can believe that Bush is making the world safer from terrorism. It boggles my mind.

3. I'm sure psychologists...
... will tell you that some people really enjoy being scared shitless all the time. I think they're called paranoiac personalities.

Bush is just enabling them. He knows a lot about that, I'm sure.

6. I'm not sure
One woman told me she was voting for Bush because of his morals. Which my husband and I almost laughed out loud at. Almost, we bit our tongues. Now she I would agree with - she's had the kool-aid for sure. But these national security people seemed to honestly believe that Bush would make us safer and that was the biggest issue - bigger than the economy, etc. I think some voters would be swayed if they saw that we aren't safer with Bush - that he in fact makes us less safe.

7. Chimp and Cheney with the help of the
media have people believing that because their comfy little suburbs have been spared from terror, the U.S. is safer. Americans who don't travel - and that includes the vast majority of freepers - have no idea how much the rest of the world depises our foreign policy and the chimp in particular, and how much less safe Americans everywhere will be if this asshole gets in again. We need leadership in Washington that understands and attempts to deal with the root causes of terrorism, not a bunch of "vote for us or you die" fear-mongers.

8. You need to give the strong response that BUSH WILL NOT PROTECT
YOU AND he will get YOUR CHILDREN KILLED to PROTECT HIS OIL! If that doesn't send chills down their spine nothing will! Also, am I wrong or have those heinous beheadings been restricted to contractors? Have any troops been beheaded? If not, whoever these evil ones are could be sending a message to bush to his contractors out of Iraq. There is no way Bush can protect this country even if he wanted to with (in the words of John Edwards) the mess in Iraq.
