Kerry groundswell on my street!!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 03:44 PM by MrsGrumpy
I've got my Kerry/Edwards sign in the window. I pulled out of my driveway and noticed the neighbors next door had a "Another working family for John Kerry" sign on their lawn. There are five further up the street. This morning on the way to drop my daughter off to school, I counted 12 Kerry signs...and these are lakefront homes!!! Score today 19 Kerry signs...4 Kerry stickers...1 little lone Bush/Cheney sticker...Oh, and one Bush lied, People died sticker. :hi: It's a good day!

2. Where do you live?
I'm in a red state(Georgia), and like to hear good news like this. I see W 04' stickers all damn day.

It sucks.

4. I feel your pain
"W" stickers everywhere here in Louisiana. However, not as many as 2000, and there are an intrepid few Kerry stickers around.

8. SE Michigan.
I will admit when you go to the West side it's not as heartening, but there were quite a few Bush/Cheney signs up around here-especially on the lakefront-in 2000...To quote somebody famous,"We're turning the corner." ;) Only we can really mean it!!!

3. I've been noticing something similar
I'm beginning to see several Kerry/Edward bumper stickers on cars. Not an overwhelming number, but just about everytime I go out, I see at least one.

We've got a local ordanance that prohibits people from putting political signs in their yard 30 days before an election. I think I'll put my sign out this weekend. I've already seen a few yard signs out.

10. That's the rule in some cities around here as well. No signs until
6 weeks before. Mine's in my window, but there are a lot on the lawns. :hi:

12. I have been seeing many K/E stickers all along.
But I was driving through the outskirts of one of the most conservative big money neighborhoods in the city the other day and saw a whole mess of K/E yard signs. It was sweet!
B-)

13. I know it's meager, but...
...I finally saw another Kerry sign in my neighborhood yesterday (mine was the first). There are no Bush signs yet (I expect to see one on my next door neighbor's lawn any minute now).

The street I live on (and the surrounding streets) have never displayed many campaign signs, so it's still early.

14. "John Kerry understands my family's needs"
Your story reminds me of what the women said in that very persuasive Iowa ad that helped Kerry turn it around there.
It was the one about the woman working and having very high medical bills for her whole family, and how the tax cuts and credits helped.

15. Normally, I see at least one K/E sticker per block of parked cars...
and in my neighborhood and surrounding area, the average is 2-3 K/E or "Vote Democrat" lawn signs per block.

19. I had an errand to run today that was a bit off my usual beaten path...
The number of Kerry signs was overwhelming. I would have pegged the area as a mixed bag, but on one (long) street alone I saw 10-15 Kerry/Edwards signs and ZERO smirk/sneer signs. :bounce:

I'm in Louisville.

21. Signage
My K/E sign went up 10 days ago. Then I added my own below it. NOW, I've stirred up the 'next' of Repukes whom live around me. Bush was in town Yesterday and I'm figuring the local Repuke office strolled the neighborhood and offered signs to all who wished. Now there are over 8 B/C on my street alone!

Remember that Scandinavian ditty about a long ago battle:

"A thousand screaming Swedes running through the weeds...
chased by one little Norwegian!

Well. I'm just ONE Swede - I'm NOT screaming - But I'm surrounded by uppity, yuppity snob Repukes smug in their wealth and their ability to snooker the poor ordinary bloke on the street that they will get 'theirs' someday, too.

that Kerry will win this state. I wouldn't take it for granted or consider it locked, but I believe that Kerry will win by at least 5-7 points.

A friend of mine that voted for Bush in '00 said he has no clue why he did that and said he'd never vote republican ever again. I live in a surburn which Bush won by 3 points, but I have seen few Bush stickers or signs.

23. Agreed. I get nervous when I read the "Kerry has a lock on MI" threads.

Nothing is a sure sign. My girlfriend works on the West side and sees quite a few B/C stickers and signs...and also meets quite a few freepers. It was very encouraging to see some of the big waterfront homes with Kerry/Edwards signs though. I put the sign that I just got out in the yard. Most signs seem to be staying...unless they have backup signs. :hi:
