How many people think that Allawi's speech was written by
Bush speech writers?

The language was exactly the same lofty platitude BS ... anyone else catch that.

1. I think even the media caught that
Or I was daydreaming yesterday. Or something.

4. I didn't listen to the media spin, but the speech was quite Bush-esque
In fact, if one were to remove the Mid-east accent, and replace it with a Faux texan one, you'd swear it was Bush all the way. ;)

26. They did catch it
there was this wingnut on Hardball bitching because Andrea Mitchell mentioned it slightly in her report -- said it sounded as if it were written by Rove and Cheney.

2. *raises hand and jumps up and down*
:)

I would say they, Bush writers, supplied him with talking points at the very least. And more likely they did the majority of actual writing.

3. Jon Stewart said so last night. It was word for word pretty much.
How is it we get to pick Iraq's Prime Minister?

5. They wrote the whole thing.
It was Bush's stump speech delivered by Allawi. Bush wanted to rest his vocal cords for the debates.

11. It would be nice if a reporter would ask Allawi, and of course he'd give
a truthful answer ...

7. I even saw a bit of the Bush "head bob"
Bush has that characteristic charm of bobbing his head up and down and panning the audience 180 degrees while the bobbing goes on and on, especially when he's trying to get a point across. I thought I saw a little bit of that bob in Allawi's delivery, as though he had even been coached to look like Bush.

9. Said that just last night to a Repub friend of mine.
He was all puffed up and gloating, asked what I thought of his speech. I told him that it sounded exactly like Bush with an Iraqi accent and better pronunciation of the English language.

Either written entirely by the Bush team or vetted by them with favorite lines added.

My friend was not happy and couldn't understand why I was so negative.

Because I'm a traitor and work for the terrorists for chrissakes!

to be catholic are the same ones who believe Allawi's speech was scripted by Bush & Co.

17. MSNBC bimbo said it - aired by Tweety. Later in the show he backed off
explaining it was not biased reporting.
I think her words were "sounding like a campaign speech for W"

"You could almost see the hands underneath the shirt." i.e. Bush pulling strings and moving his mouth.

There were a couple of excellent articles yesterday. Both talked about Bush refusing to acknowledge the realities in Iraq and Allawi doing the same thing.

Allawi: I'm sorry, Sire, I didn't have time to write a speech, but I'll just make a few informal remarks...

AWOLi: Don't worry about a thing. Just read this. Karen, you got that speech ready?

Hughes: Ja, mein Fuehrer.

Allawi: Whatever you say, Master.
