4. A LOT of people have been telling the truth. Even a few repubs.
The media just hasn't gotten around to reporting it yet...

28. media reporting ...
Please permit me to correct you: it's the controlled Orwellian American news media that has not gotten around to reporting it.

If you watch BBC every night you would get a FAR different picture.

2. Musharraf is a terrorist, if he said that.
You are either with us or against us. I bet Pakistan is more unsafe for General Musharraf, thanks to Bush's little war.

8. I wonder if it wouldn't be wise to try to refrain from using the word
"terror" or "terrorists". These words are too broad and don't define our enemies. Each group using extreme tactics has a name. Why don't we try to call them by their name? Have you noticed how * never uses Kerry's name - just refers to him as "my opponent". This dehumanizes him - doesn't give him a face. The word "terrorists" does the same thing.

24. Yes, but Iraqis aren't. Letting Bush just say "terrorists" gives him a
license to go after anybody. This is a major misunderstanding of the war in Iraq, one that John Edwards has been trying to draw the line on. The war in Iraq is not about terrorism. Colin Powell admitted that. Yet most people think that's why we're there.

26. I understand what you'e saying. The "war on terror" is seperate from
the war in Iraq. What I'm saying is a terrorist is as a terrorist does. Their nationality is not the issue. If an Iraqi saws an innocent man's head off with a kitchen knife he's as much a terrosist as the guy, or girl, who blows up school children. And... motivation is not an excuse.

14. Musharraf put his life on the line to support Bush and us.
Given the sentiment in Pakistan that is widely anti-American, he was surprisingly bold in allying himself with us. Indeed there have been attempts to assassinate him. While Musharraf is not the champion of democracy that we might prefer, he is probably the best that we can expect from such an unstable country. I have no doubt that he is pissed at Bush for moving the attention to Iraq, and leaving Afghanistan and Pakistan in the lurch. I suspect that Hamid Karzai is similarly pissed at Bush. They should be!

16. Bush* gave Pakistan the green light on their Atomic weapons program.
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 09:54 PM by spanone
He lifted the ban on Pakistan nuclear testing. I think the same reasoning would also apply to Saddam Hussein. Not the champion of democracy but the best we could expect from such an unstable country.

snip> Pakistan continues to increase its nuclear weapon capability, and to import the necessary dual-use equipment and materials. The country is now estimated to possess an arsenal of 30-50 nuclear weapons and plans to increase its nuclear facilities with foreign assistance. In March 2003, Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China for a second 300 MW power reactor at Chashma. Pakistan also relies on foreign support in developing its weapon delivery systems. It has nuclear-capable aircraft and is improving its ballistic missile program with the assistance of Chinese and North Korean entities

25. So in essence we are "less safe" because of the capture of Saddam.
*sigh*

I can only hope the stupid American public gets a clue so this mad man is removed from office. He'll mess up the world something good if he gets re-selected.
