4. Thanks, I needed that!
I was on a bitch tonight but:
James Carville sent out a memo today to "The Democratic Establishment." In it, he lashed out about the "carping and whining in Democratic circles," calling it "in no way justified by any fair-minded analysis of the current data."

He then goes on to cite "the best private polls and the best public non-
media poll" as showing the race a dead heat - showing what we said all along, that insiders know polls like the TIME and Gallup polls are nonsense and don't give them any heed.

Carville's memo beckons Democrats to pull it together (as he put it, "cut the crap and pull together.") He says John Kerry's current standing in the polls shows that, "John Kerry has an excellent chance to win this election. In fact, John Kerry probably will win this election."

that site. They post rather sporadically, but when they do it's usually something good.

6. This is great...
Sounds like they've done their research on Kerry... They didn't talk about the Swiftboat stuff though but that happened in stage 2 so that's ok I guess...

7. I agree with 2 very important points here:
1: "In Kerry's previous elections, we have seen this cycle play out, where he "comes from behind" and pulls out strong victories. In reality, he didn't come from behind.....Kerry did nothing to pull out these victories, nothing different than he had been doing all along."

and:

2: "George Bush is an incumbent President... (while) many in the nation have not even gotten to know his challenger yet through debates, yet still enough prefer him already over the President they know all too well.

The reason John Kerry will win this election by a landslide is because, as people who haven't been paying much attention yet start tuning in in the final run-up to the election... will see a strong looking man with the right credentials and experience and decide, just on this superficial level, that he is the one who should be leading the nation at the moment."

Kerry is in great position.

9. it gets right to the heart of it
This is why Kerry is the "Real Deal" some may have mocked this slogan early on in the Democratic Primaries, but no other label could be more appropriate.

10. man who is confident. Yes, confident
i recognize this confidence in vietnam. first tour of duty on ship. learning his way. then deciding to go to training to be an officer on a swift boat. responsible for so many lives and confident in taking care of himself. that takes confidence and courage, especially from someone so young

15. polls
Polls don't mean anything. Even if we are 20 points behind, we still have to continue to fight if we love our country. What choice do we have?
