I don't pretend to hold the hallmark definition of what we, our goverment as a body of us,...are,...today,...in these confusing times. However, Dr. Lawrence Britt's observations of the defining characteristerics of fascism,...churn my "fight or flight" mechanism. I list some of his examinations of the fascist regimes f Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Sunrto and others. Some of the common characteristics he noted are (abbreviated):

IDENTIFICATION OF SCAPEGOATES/"ENEMIES" TO UNIFY "A CAUSE"

SEXISM THEMES (anti-choice, anti-divorce, anti-gays)

CONTROLLED MEDIA

OBSESSION WITH "NATIONAL SECURITY"

RELIGION AND GOVERNMENT ARE INTERWINED

CORPORATED POWER IS PROTECTED

LABOR POWER IS SUPPRESSED

VISIBLE DISDAIN FOR INTELECTUALS AND THE ARTS

RAMPANT CRONYISM AND CORRUPTIONS

1. Look up fascism in the dictionary

and you get B*sh's Amerika. Back in the '60s we threw the term around pretty loosely, and not very accurately. Nixon was a nasty piece of work, but not even close to El Chimpo in sheer criminality. And the fact that Nixon was finally forced to resign after hearings before Congress and the Supreme Court ordered him to turn over the secret tapes proved that in those days we still had a democracy. B*sh has done far worse things with impunity. His foul administration is stomping the life out of this democracy and is replacing it with a fascist regime that Mussolini would have envied. Jefferson spins in his grave.

2. I have a copy of this document

I pull it up all the time especially when I feel apathetic about the campaign and the upcoming election. Its a nice kick in the butt. We need to remind ourselves that this election isn't just about 4 more years in office its about a VERY EVIL undertone that is at work.

Yup. Take advantage of the best of a people, while raping them of every material and human and spiritual resources they own,...
