The invasion and occupation of Iraq is part of the administration's re-election effort. Period.

That's all it ever was, just another campaign tactic spending the lives and blood of American soldiers and Iraqi citizens and using the deaths of 3000 of our citizens on 9/11/2001 to further the political ambitions of a small group of ideologues who have perverted the democratic processes of this country to seize and hold power at any cost.

They needed this war, and the subsequent wars that they'll start if elected, in order to drive wedges into the electorate and secure their power. They use it to bludgeon any dissent by characterizing it as unpatriotic or even treasonous, a blatant attempt to suppress any legitimate criticism of their inept handling of their war of choice.

They don't care about and are actually hostile to democracy, whether here or anywhere else in the world. Examples abound.

Terror and fear are their allies in holding on to power. Osama and al-Queda on the loose rather than captured or killed were more valuable to them so they had no problem removing resources from Afghanistan, where the terrorists were, to Iraq, where they weren't.

You don't have to talk about delivering this crew to the Hague so that they can be tried for war crimes. Yet.

(Oh, and if you're serving in Iraq now or expect to be deployed there in the next month or so....if Bush is elected on November 2nd, you can expect to be fighting in the alleys of Fallujah, Najaf, Tikrit and any other Iraqi city (and there are quite a number of them) that is presently under the control of the insurgents. And I'm not even talking about the crossfire you'll be in when the civil war breaks out. Think about that before you mark that ballot.)
