1. Al Gore should be our president
most people don't realize how awesome he is. We came so close to having an independent-thinking president and we blew it!

2. He is a fake, but he is coherent.
This is not today's Chimp. He seems aware of time and place, he speaks in sentences that have to do with each other.

6. I Don't Have The Heart To Watch...
Why would I want to subject myself to even MORE of Bush* and his idiotic face, voice, gestures and lies?

7. Bush is remarkably less coherent today than he was then
Edited on Sat Sep-25-04 08:33 PM by kcwayne
It is very clear that his mental faculties have degraded by orders of magnitude since 2000.

Also this debate is ripe with material to show how Bush has delivered on no promises that he made back then.

I hope Kerry is ready for that.

10. Gore outperformed Bush on the issues
yet I learned some veryt important lessons from watching that debate that 6 years of graduate school in political science did not teach me: the media spends little time on the substantive issues of the debate. It's all about style, how much makeup Al Gore wore and how many times he "sighed". Gore was simply too smart for the dumb people in the rural red states who may have felt itimidated by having a president who might appear too intelligent for them.

12. OMG...
...Bush is talking now about "the conditions required" for him to consider use of force. Basically spouts the Powell doctrine. Talking about "clear mission, imminent threats, exit strategy". Astonishing. The people that voted for that boob should be REQUIRED to watch this debate.

13. Now it's Mondale and Reagan... What I'm seeing is the same
repug party line (from Reagan) EXCEPT, when Mondale posed the question about Reagan's NOT going after terrorists after the Beirut bombing...Reagan DID NOT HAVE AN EFFECTIVE ANSWER. He made an EXCUSE. WHOA!!

It's the same ole shit passed down to Bush....TALK A TOUGH LINE, but DO NOTHING. Wow, watching Reagan get all steamed under the collar while Mondale keeps posing new and novel questions about why Reagan didn't do this or that where it relates to terrorism et al.

Geezus, our dems weren't bad then or now...they gave decent, reasoned, logical responses to the worlds problems. *IT'S THE PEOPLE of America that seem to WANT A RAMBO PRESIDENT. We have a problem, folks.

*(By people of america, I mean the other half of the voting population..not us)
