Funny story canvassing today
So we're going door to door in a 54% Dem precinct to get out the vote, register folks and so forth, and we have these lists that tell us how the folks in each house lean if that is known.

I go up to this house that is listed as having 4 people living there, all registered to vote, but no indication how they lean. I figure good opportunity to convert one for Kerry, and we also have forms to convert people to a permanent absentee ballot if that would help them vote more easily.

So I knock and this 25 year old princess type answers (must be living with the parents) and I tell her we are canvassing for the Dems and ask if she has any thoughts on the election - does she need more info about candidates, etc.

She gives me this really snotty look and says "we all vote Republican in this house. So forget it!"

Only I have the list that shows NO ONE that lives in that house has voted in the last FOUR elections. I just smiled and said "Man, seems like Bush has it sewed up in this area! Okay, have a nice day!"

Gotta love those snotty all knowing, non-voting, staunch Republicans, don't ya?

1. I sometimes think people that ignorant
shouldn't even vote. Apparently the people in that household are taking my advice. :)

2. Fantastic!
You played it really well! Lull them into a sense of having it "sewn up".

I like the ones who have Bush-Cheney or W'04 stickers and aren't even registered.

Those are my absolute FAVORITE Bush supporters! ;)
