Piece of propaganda that hurts us in election...
is how the war on Iraq is listed as the War on Terror. Every time I see this it makes my blood boil. More than likely these two very different activities are probably unable to be separated.

I would love to see, hear or read where one reporter asks people in the Bush administration just how the war in Iraq is central to the "war on terror." That is unless it is central to producing more terrorists.

Ugh....terrorisim is the right's new communism...

1. I've heard his answer. He says Saddam was a terrorist;
therefore, the war in Iraq is a war on terror. It's not an answer but it's HIS answer.

7. but he was a good terrorist when he was doing the bidding of Reagan/Bush.
Back in the day when Saddam was fighting the Iranians for us, when Rummy was delivering gifts of gold spurs from Reagan to Saddam, the dictator could do no wrong. Reagan/Bush even turned their heads the other way when "Saddam was even gassing his own people", threatened a veto against the Congressional resolutions against Saddam, The Prevention of Genocide Act of 1988! Lobbyists warned that the Bill would only punish Americans who were doing business with Iraq... farmers, bankers, exporters and oil men.

Dictators like Noriega and Saddam should beware that once that USA has used them, they become "Hitlers" which we must then get rid of. But even then, some back and kiss up, like Khaddafy, and become friends" again. Plus Exxon/Mobil wanted to get back to their old oil fields in Libya.

2. We have got to stop this confusion. Colin Powell said the Iraq War
has nothing to do with terrorism. Hammer that home every time someone says "War on Terror". We also need to refer to Afghanistan as the Afghanistan War. We have got to give our enemies a face and a name and not refer to them as "the terrorists". We need to declare "War on the Terror Word".

3. unfortunately, they have
repeated this so much that it has sunk in. People have told me that Saddam gave money and support to terrorists? Also that Iraq was a haven for terrorists?

I think the problem is that they want to make the war on terrorism much wider than just a war on Osama and his men. They want to go after dozens of groups (not affiliated with Osama) that have done "terrorism". Our challenge is to narrow the field down--and even more importantly to get the American people to listen to us. And we do not have much time to do it.

4. One thing IS certain. It IS now a terrorist state!!
Stupid loser turned it from a dictator - which we usually like because they control desent and ship the oil to us so they can get moer money to control their people. Now we have a freewheeling terrorist state that will take tons of money and effort to tame and which is making us weaker and more susceptible to a terrorist attack. So, yeah, it's a big part of the war on terror NOW!!! :eyes:

6. Just flip it to expose the truth: it's the War *FOR* Terror
George W. Bush is Osama's warmly welcomed recruitment sergeant:
British Ambassador to Italy Ivor Roberts kicked up a huge fuss this week on several levels when he lobbed this little grenade into a closed conference of British and Italian diplomats: "George W. Bush is the best recruiting sergeant for al Qaeda," Roberts said. "If there is anyone ready to celebrate his eventual reelection, it is al Qaeda."

8. counter it as follows
Every time I see it I counter it.

The war on Iraq is the grand diversion from the war on Terror. CON's will counter that by saying we're still in Afghanistan or they'll downplay the need to be there. Just hammer them with terrorism, Bin Laden running wild, Al Qaeda in 60 nations, etc.

Bush diverted troops and equipment out of Afghanistan to wage his NeoCon crusade in Iraq. Now Iraq is a new breeding ground for anti-American sentiment and terrorists. We made it what it is.

Then show them this:

Lets play Where's Waldo with Al Qaeda!

Also concerning Iraq and Al Queada, there's this site, from the U.S. Government's own information site:

http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/terrornet/12.htm>http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/terrornet/12.htm

Notice a certain country right in the middle of the map, in which countries in red are where Al Queada is known to be operating at the time (November 2001):

Considering that Iraq is right in the middle of this map, I think I see the Shrubster's genius plan: he's turning iraq into the black hole of war, sucking in terrorists.

9. Kerry should have been disputing this point since before
the DNC.

He's only now taking on the Repubs insidious way of framing the issue and conflating OBL with SH and Iraq with AQ.

In fact, NO Democrat should be referring to the "War on Terror." We should be fighting the War Against Terrorists--- which is separate and distinct from the "Occupation of Iraq."
