Interesting Read from New Zealand Herald...

Winning US Presidency May Prove A Poisoned Chalice

"...Though Kerry now vows to "stay the course" in Iraq, he is more likely than the crew around Bush to accept reality and pull American troops out before too much damage is done. And if economic disaster strikes the United States in the next four years, as it well may, he is less likely than Bush to devote all his energy to shifting the blame for it on to foreigners."

 Oops...links are good! Thanks.

2. That's an interesting point. However...
...I think with competent leadership, things can be turned around in a big way. We've got so many positives upon which Kerry can build: scientific breakthroughs, technological developments, global efforts for the environment. I remember when Clinton got in, Bush left him a real mess and by '96, things were verging on excellent in a lot of areas.

Welcome to DU!!!

3. You are right...
And the article (that I forgot to link before) addresses the big messes left by the Repubs.

Thanks for the welcome!

5. Bah
Keeping Bush and letting America smash into a brick wall may appear reasonable to a New Zealander, but from here it looks like a damned poor strategy.

The bag of tricks is not empty and I'm not giving up until it is.

6. It sounds like it could happen but===
The men with the deep pockets behind all the elections do not like to miss out on any money and they do not like to see Bush take a country down. Their money is more important than any party. The trouble with that is a country does not seem important to these people either. It is world money they watch.I can see Dem thinking like me on this and saying let Bush take the blame but I can not see them taking a big hit in the pocket book for any one party.

7. That would be true if Kerry were as stupid as the little turd.
