and let them know your feelings. I doubt Shrubya will actually see it, but somebody who supports him will. It's got to be demoralizing to see something like that.

5. A lot of charities/non-profits send gift cards...

...As in "Dear Mrs Mary Jones: We want to let you know that Susan Brown has made a generous donation to the Sierra Club in your name on the occasion of your birthday. These funds will go to support <yadda yadda yadda>"

W used his first day in office to slap down a lot of causes dear to our hearts, including womens' unfettered access to health care. So for his birthday tens of thousands of women across the country donated to Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and similar organizations -- all with a request to let the faux cowboy know we had done so.

I don't think political organizations can do this, but if you're feeling feisty you can send him a card yourself. Err on the side of discretion and be nice, as you never know who will be reading it -- "Dear Mr. Bush: Many thanks for the tax refund. I just want to let you know that I have donated it where I think it will do the most good, which is to Senator Kerry's campaign for president."

6. I'm glad someone got the tax cut money,

I didn't. I'm having to pay for those tax cuts the rich folks got. I have to every time a republican calls for tax cuts. The rich get them, but the poor and middle class have to pay for them.
