Dallas Nonsense: Anybody seen this crap? (pardon the pun)
Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 12:50 PM by elfwitch
There is a house on Royal Ln. between Forest and Hillcrest that has two toilets parked on it's front yard. one has Kerry written on it the other has Edwards written on it. The sign above it says, "It is time to flush both Johns". They have flood lights pointed at it in case you might want to see it at night.

The sign wars in that neighborhood are getting pretty bad. On the bright side for every Repug sign you see, there is a house right next to it with a Dem sign. I was having hope for Dallas, as I've seen many more Kerry/Edwards stickers lately, but this toilet thing is just tacky!

3. Is this a slum section of Dallas?
I lived in San Antonio, and certainly not in any mansion, but we would NEVER have been permitted, BY LAW, to have anything like that in our yard! Signs are OK, but that would be considered junk, and must be removed or you are fined daily until it's gone!

6. far from it
Its upper middle class at least. A very repug part of town for sure. Just shows Repugs have no class AND bad taste.

9. I'm in Dallas. That is an upscale neighborhood, if it's where the
initial post indicates.

I am thinking of calling the City of Dallas on Monday. I'm thinking there might be an ordinance against it....but wouldn't one of the neighbors call that in?

Than again....it might backfire. If I were a tasteful Repub or an Independent, I don't think I'd go for that sort of trailer trash thing.

15. It's the trailor trash thing I was talking about.
The laws in San Antonio I spoke about had nothing to do with politics, it's all about trashing the neighborhood...what's allowed and what's not! I can't believe this is legal there, and I'd object to it if the signs read Bush/Cheney too!

4. I grew up in Dallas - i can believe it
however its plaeasing to know there are lots of Kerry signs - based on your comments. I have a Re Defeat Bush sign in my Ausitn, Texas yard.
Maybe things ARE changing.

7. Hi Elfwitch - Dallas Is One Sick Town
Just yesterday, I was driving home in North Dallas when a SUV tailgated me at a stoplight.

When the light changed, I accelerated normally and proceeded down the road.

The tailgater stayed on my bumper and then accelerated past me. They then cut right in front of me and slowed. This forced me to stare at their * and Sessions bumper stickers.

Finally they sped off. I can only assume that this SUV driver was upset at spying my Kerry/Edwards sticker when they first pulled up behind me.

As I said, Dallas is one sick town.

8. Gawd, is it time to revive the old "Dick and Bush" jokes?
Oh that's right, it's only crass when Democrats do it.

Maybe you could post a few copies of this around:

in their yards beside the B/C sign...no heart, no brain..was there another one? Can't remember who they were. Senior moments... :-)

11. Dallas is right smack dab in the middle of good-ol-boy central.
Highland Park, University Park, Stand and Model University...

This is the ground zero for the white, chrisitan, good-ol-boy texas mafia. Here is where they take care of bidness. Several maxims apply:

The higher the hair, the closer to Jesus...

Do what you want, 'cause hell, you own the courts in this state anyway.

Money is a great way to keep score and tell right from wrong. You got the money, you're right.

18. It really is...
The parts of San Antonio I grew up in and lived in were never like this. South Texas and North Texas might as well be two different states. They just don't operate the same way.

13. I'm more pleased to hear about the Dem signs
than bothered about the commodes (as my grandmother called them!). Last election there were NO Gore signs in Dallas. There was a story in the paper where a wife wanted to put one out and her husband freaked out in rage at her, so she didn't.

It's VERY good news that there are any Kerry signs at all, and far BETTER to hear there are a noticeable number! Don't worry about the tacky Pugs, they're just running very scared.
