I spent my Sunday morning
with a group of Veterans for Kerry. We met at a veterans park that is on the route home for the congregation of very large and very fundamentalist Christian fellowship. While we stood with Kerry-Edwards signs we watched hundreds of the faithful parade by. More than half of the cars gave us a thumbs up, a honk or or a friendly wave. Only a few of the digits were not thumbs and I suspect these were not the Christian Bush fans as much as just the local knuckle draggers. The response was surprising especially when one of the followers of this group said that today their act of faith at the fellowship was registering Republicans.

3. A good friend
of mine who was a Vietnam vet and knew Kerry - they served in the Navy together - just died in a car accident two weeks ago. He was active with a group of vets who supported Kerry.

So the swift liars have dominated the media but I know for a fact that not all vets are bushie fans.

5. My personal veteran story
I was on a flight from Oakland to Las Vegas sitting be a Korean and Vietnam War veteran, 70 years old. He blasted Bush, said we should never have gone into Iraq, and---this was my favorite line---said Zeller should be put in the J Ward.
