Ohio Democratic Voter Registration Up 250%! GOP Up Only 25%- CNN
Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 06:41 PM by cryingshame
that's right, my brothers and sisters... per CNN, newly registered Democratic Voters outnumber Republican in numbers TEN TIMES GREATER!

Of course CNN then goes on to say that both parties are enjoying higher than usual registration.

Oh, CNN also said there's no guarenteeing all those newly registered voters will actually turn out on Election Day.

Now WHY would THAT many new Dem voters NOT TURN OUT?

This is a HUGE number of new voters.

Please keep this kicked for a bit so we can have a "good news" thread on front page. :)

Congratulations to Ohio Democrats!

1. Dems beat Repubs by ten times not ten percent
But as I have said again and again, screw the polls they lie, and if we get a fair election Kerry wins in a landslide.

4. If the polls are just using "likely" voters,
ones who voted before, there is one huge surprise in store for the Repubs

7. Here in CO, over 125,000 new voters. Why would they register,
if they weren't going to vote?
BTW, just like many other swing states, our election officials are overwhelmed with requests for new voter registration. The most common quote.."I've never seen anything like this in my (10, 20, 30+) years with voter registration." MKJ

9. If indeed there are exceptionally large turnouts at the polls

one has to ask whether there will be a certain amount of chaos in running the precincts, handling the votes, counting them and having exhausted workers.

The systems are setup based on previous turnouts and some predictions but a massive turnout could overwhelm the system with running out of ballots, long lines (with impatient voters and harassed workers), and having to keep the polling places open long after the closing time. (Generally everyone in lines at closing time gets to vote but no newly arriving ones - in California, anyway.)

19. I remember hearing in 2002 that precincts in TX and AK ran out of ballots
in the afternoon with lines waiting to vote.....there was a long delay and maybe still not enuff ballots

democrats in every county should check with election board abt 1-no of total registered voters 2-no of printed ballots available.....isn't this public info?????

10. I've read of similar results in Colorado and Florida.
I can't believe many of these newly registered voters are voting out of satisfaction with the current regime.
This one may be called at around 10PM Central for Kerry.

11. Puke Sec. of State is trying to disqualify some new registrations
In Ohio, there's an archaic rule that says new voter registration forms have to be printed on 80-pound paper. This goes back to the days when the cards were physically filed, rather than scanned and databased. It also has to do with the fact that the standard cards are actually "reply postcards" and the weight is required for the USPS.

So, now this assbag Blackwell wants to throw out any forms they've received that aren't on the 80-pound stock, even though they no longer physically file them, and even though they have already been received at the Sec. of State's office to be entered into the system.

This is clearly a partisan scam to trash registration forms printed from the internet, even though the very official looking sites where you can do this make no mention of the 80-pound paper requirement.

So, bouncing registrations for internet-leaning new voters? Think those skew Democrat?

We now have our answer.

BTW, this guy is a puke who has his eye on replacing our "idiot, stupid, corrupt, dumb, rotten Republican governor" in '06. Heaven help us...

14. Blackwell would do anything, including sell his own grandmother,
Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 06:46 PM by nownow
to beat Democrats. He knows how to beat Democrats, too -- the damned turncoat started out as one because he knew Hamilton County Republicans were too racist to vote for a black guy. He ran as a Democrat until he'd proved he knew how to campaign, then switched parties, because Hamilton County Republicans would vote for Satan himself if they thought he could campaign well and fill a war chest.

And just a note, so nobody misunderstands what pisses me off about the guy -- I don't like Ohio Republicans anyway, but I really detest turncoats, no matter what their race. I just see race as the reason Blackwell, specifically, started out as a Dem and turned Repub later.
