Had to go to Austin and BUY Kerry signs. Still I am so proud of our
Dems. here in small town, repuke territory Texas. We are opening a campaign headquarters next Friday and will have a phone banc and campaign materials and a smile and refreshments for all who come by. We have and are making a difference and will continue our hard work, no matter how much we are ignored by the national Dems. (Funny they sure don't mind taking our $$$.)

1. Please protect your signs..don't let them
get stolen! Like so many have been. And you drove all the way to Austin to get them:)

2. Actually that was the county chair who did the driving and it's not
all that far (a little over an hour). I understand that those signs actually came from Houston. I do not understand why the National folks do not understand that we (Texas Dems)will never get stronger if we don't have their support.

4. They haven't spent significant money in Texas since 1988
when Lloyd Bentson was on the ticket. There was some effort in 1992 and virtually none in 1996 although Clinton did make a few campaign stops in S Texas toward the end of the campaign. Moneywise, there hasn't been jack since 1988.

8. The new state chair has accused them of using us as an ATM. What's
up with that? I am telling you that I see this place as an apple ripe for the picking of anyone ready, willing and able to make the effort. At the state Dem. Convention this summer a large percentage of the delegates were first timers. Doesn't that tell anyone anything? Remember our roots are with the Democrats. It was only the influx of Yankees (Sorry Yankees. It was certainly not the good ones. It was those carpetbaggers, like the bushes.)that changed our party and state so very much.

14. I didn't want to say that publicly
but it is the influx of Yankees that turned this state Republican. Then they leave to be replaced by 2 more.

7. Hey, we've had a sign shortage too
And we're a swing state. The idea is that signs don't vote, I guess. And the money is getting spent more on "get out the vote" efforts. I hear that we will be getting some by the end of the month so they can be put out all at once, thereby getting more bang for our buck. And then stealing them all will be more of a chore if they show up all at once.

The ones we have we've been paying for. And God bless the Vets for Kerry. They've been having big beautiful plastic signs made up with their own money. They're selling them in Dem HQ.

Surely the Republicans don't have this kind of dedication and caring on their side. Has anyone seen this kind of passion on the Republican side?

9. No, what they have in Texas, as everyone knows from the swift boat
slime is lots and lots and lots and lots of CASH!!!And with that they can go on the tube and tell any and all lies many, many times and those with limited time and reading capabilities buy into that big time. What really, really sells here is the "good Christian" guy stuff which sends me into outer space. This person is so far removed from understanding and emulating Christ's message that it seems to be a really stupid missionary from the Devil.

15. I dig what you are saying
But we have the eye of the tiger ;)

And I would ask these people if they see "any fruits of the Spirit." These politicians know how to talk a good game, but I wanna see some action!

3. Tell 'em to paint the backs of their signs with
artist's oil paints--Alizirin Crimson. Takes a long time to dry and will stain the thieves little bitty hands...oh, big hands...little bitty brains. I forgot...

5. Hon, we are so outnumbered that mostly no one takes the time to remove
or deface. They think they own the world!! They will have a new day dawning very, very SOON!!!

10. This may not make you feel any better
But as far as I can see (just over the PA border) it seems to be like that everywhere. The folks I'm working with in York PA had to pitch in to buy bumper stickers. I just don't get it--that's a must win state for pete's sake.

12. Congratulations on your great efforts!
It's wonderful that you took things into your own hands.

What county are you in?

16. I'm So Proud Of You!!!
You GO!! I live in L.A., bluest of the blue territory, but one of my dear friends lives in Waco and man she puts up with a lot of crap but she has her Kerry bumper sticker on and all that.

It's nothing for me to have one on but for her it's really brave because a lot of the people there are the WACKO variety of Wacos if you get my drift.
