Ask a Bush supporter this question:
If you had to choose between John Kerry and George W. Bush, but their foreign policies were reversed, who would you vote for?.....

I have a feeling that quite a few Bush supporters would either still support Bush w/Kerry's foreign policy, wouldn't know, or wouldn't answer the question. I don't think many of them would vote for Kerry w/ Bush's foreign policy. What I think this would prove is that they really don't believe what they've been saying about national security being their major reason for voting for Bush. They have tried to push this single-issue message, saying that voting for Kerry will cause you to "get blown up". They have basically told people to ignore all other issues, because not getting blown up is the most important thing. If they really believe this, then they should choose "Kerry w/ Bush's foreign policy" without hesitation.

1. I don't think Bush supporters could wrap their brains around...

hypotheticals that don't involve the impending threat and eventual destruction of all that is foreign to them.

I'm almost positive that Bush supporters are truly unable to view things from different perspectives. It's a cognitive problem.

edit: and even if they could, it is unlikely you will get an honest answer out of them.

3. How can anyone reason that a man who went to Vietnam of his-------
own free will, and was brave enough to fight for what he thought wrong after, would not defend this country? I may not like that Kerry vote for the war powers to leave the congress but I can see why he did it. He should have been more in the know that Bush would not use the power in a good way. I did not think he would any how.The safety of the US under Bush is sure missed named. A lot more than 3000 people have been killed since Bush started re-running for his second term.

2. They're voting for a brand name..
sort of like those people who would rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy.

Logic and common sense have nothing to do with it. Bush is "cool", like Harley Davidson and Camel cigarrettes.

4. Don't waste your time...
Bush supporters drank the Kool-Aid a long time ago, and you could produce photographic evidence of Bush engaging in Man-Boy Love with a goat and they'd still vote for him.

Talk to Independent and Undecided voters instead.
