this absurd to see. i personally cannot watch. anytime it has even come close to switching to news channels, i have turned off. since kerry's speech monday.

sounded like they have just truly become outrageous. i may not watch, but maybe what the others need to see, to say,............"gosh what has happened in this world. that this is our news."

i dont know. but i am feeling good having left the news. really good. not even much going into the news threads here on board. kinda like. dont do poll threads any more either.

1. Hiding your head in the sand?
I know alot of the "News" is bullshit... but I wouldn't want to ignore the lies lest they become facts... which they will if the Bush Regime manages to create an ignorant society that frolicks in that bliss and leaves them a world free to bustle in.

2. ah baby baby......dont jump to conclusions so quickley
i am a lot of things, butttt, lol head in the sand i am not. i keep informed. and i know what is up. like someone bothered about someone sweating during the debates. got it  dontcha worry. i am one that has watched 14 hours of news a day for a lot of lot of years.

i think stepping away for a month, confident this mess isnt for me. that i can accomplish things without listening to people go on and on and on about bush strong, focused. and kerry sweats.

5. So sorry...
Your post didn't sound like a temporary break. Perhaps I misread it. I'm also sensitive to this because I feel like I spend soooo much of my time trying to inform people... or getting them to inform themselves.

Guess I jumped to conclusions.

3. Excuse me, but taking a break from the news is not the same
as "hiding your head in the sand." I'm taking a "news" sabbatical myself. This is not about ignoring lies--it's about finding my center and feeling a bit more peaceful. I've been finding it increasingly more difficult to function and I realized that the constant flow of negativity from TV and Radio had been contributing greatly to my unease.

How much "news" does a person really need to be informed, anyway? Considering how the media will hammer at a story for days on end, one can tune in a couple of times a week and still be reasonably informed.

6. And from what I've seen in the
past few days while near a TV (I have no TV at home) more than half of what is peddled as news is anything but.

8. i think another thing i feel
to watch this trash, is feeding the lie of it. it is corrupting the view i have of the people. do you know how many people like who kerry is. so why do they not ever have someone on the news that likes him. i think yesterday they talked to democrats who are voting for him, but doesnt like him. i know a lot of people on this board that really like kerry. and can tell the media, clearly, factually why they like him. therre are good and likeable things about kerry

how stupid has it become that the news wont even show anyone who likes kerry
