Hurricane report from Palm Beach County. Bush not handing out ice yet.

I'm one of the lucky ones. I've got electricity, and many of the stores are starting to open again. The local Starbucks doesn't have power, so we elitist, left-wing, latte-sipping, flip-flopping, wind-surfing wimp types are just going to have to muddle through.

But aside from that, too many people here don't have power, and some don't even have homes. It's depressing and I don't know what to do about it other than make contributions. I called the Red Cross and FEMA to volunteer, but they said they didn't need any help right now.

So far, no sign of George handing out ice, thank goodness. Considering what it costs to fly Air Force One and take care of the imbecile's security, each bag of ice is probably worth a couple of million bucks. Why can't the asshole just send the ice and stay home?

Observation: Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are also part of the United States. They got hit by some of these hurricanes too, but I don't see George making any trips there to hand out ice. But then, they can't vote in a presidential election so they don't count, do they?

I think Hypoluxo has their own power company, (not FPL), but I haven't heard anything about it. Call or fax the Palm Beach Post. They will be able to tell you.

Thanks for the hurricane update and I'm glad you're safe. I agree w/you about Shrub; stay home, we in other parts of the country don't want to see him either. It's so gratuitous and we aren't impressed.

Thanks for the good wishes. As far as the "handing out ice" photo op, I have no idea who it is that he's trying to impress. Most of the people who need the ice (in this area) aren't going to vote for him anyway. And those who don't need the ice, got on their private planes and flew out of Boca Raton airport long before the hurricane hit.

(I wonder if Rush stayed around for this? Naah, if you've got the bucks, you can buy Oxycontin anywhere.)
