Did anyone hear about the plans that the CIA/WH had for support of certain candidates in the upcoming Iraq election? Isn't this tampering with a "free and democratic" election???
This is outrageous!

I heard it on MSNBC, twice. It appears that the Bush Administration is rather unabashed by this move. They made it sound like Bush rejected the idea...
I also laughed when I heard this and simply shook my head. Will the gaffs and screw-ups never cease? And just how long does the American people put up with this. This is truly disgusting.
But nothing on it since. I have had on the MSNBC "news" channel since then but nothing. The White House has issued a statement that they were involved in the plans to elect the candidate of their choice. That's all I got before the talking head went back to who is the better debater. Jeez.
If they will admit to throwing an election in a foreign country what makes people think they aren't trying to do the same thing here - where the stakes for themselves is much higher? Lies, thieves and thugs - BushCo, Inc.
3. I heard it on the radio in the car this morning............
.....I laughed so hard I almost ran into a tree. To hear it stipulated that we MIGHT assist those candidates that were friendly to the US was shocking, I tell you!
(are there going to be any candidates in this "election" that aren't our people?) Oh, there are? I guess we can look forward to welcoming prime minister Sistani and his Secretary of the Defense Al Sadr.
4. That will be the sure "kiss of death" - literally. I can't believe the
clumsiness of the * administration. This is the LAST impression the U.S. wants to leave with the Iraqis - that certain candidates are 'favored" by the U.S. The Allawi visit was a mistake and will be seen as such by everyone within 2 months, imo.
