The Power of Bush
You hear this from the Bush cult: "Bush is resolute. He is unwavering. He has moral clarity (whatever the hell that is). He will stay the course no matter what. He is decisive."

Hmmmm. He reminds me of a famous figure in history: The captain of the Titanic.

New slogan: Bush = captain of the Titanic. This is something people can relate to since "The Titanic" was (and still is) a popular movie.

1. There are several differences.
Captain Smith was overly confident (he had never reported an incident on his trips) but he was not a corrupt person, at least not that anyone knows. The tragedy of the Titanic can be blamed on a number of people, from the designers and the company that owned it who did not put enough lifeboats on board, to the telgraph operator who didn't hand the telegram warning of icebergs to the Captain in time, to the First mate who turned the boat the wrong way according to many historians to the other crew people who didn't fill the boats and on and on. It was a whole series of bad judgements and poor decisions. But there is no evidence that the tragedy was deliberate or premeditated. Can we say that about *? I would rather compare him to people more in his league--Hitler, Stalin, Jim Jones, and a number of others. I don't think Captain Smith's memory deserves comparison with a hoodlum like *.

5. While I agree with you,
the idea of comparing Bush with Hitler and Stalin has been used already with little effect. If anything it has given the National Socialsts an excuse to go after Moveon.org. The Jim Jones comparison is more apt: Bush is a cult.

2. The captain of the Titanic also wanted to break the speed record...
...for a trans-Atlantic crossing by a passenger steamship, so he ordered full speed ahead despite the warnings of reported iceberg fields in their path. Lots of examples under Bush, switching priorities from finding Bin Laden to invading Iraq, going into Iraq with no broad coalition of armed forces, placing only half the troop levels in Iraq recommended by the military to maintain peace and order, now insisting that free elections will take place in January even though major population centers are held by Iraqis opposed to the Allawi provisional government. Bush really is completely indifferent to the safety of American troops in Iraq. Heaven help all of us if America is the Titanic!

3. That idea is one, another is he is the World's largest

**PARASITE**

He has done nothing in his life successfully excerpt take advantage of his ability to appear innocuous while he sucks the life out of an unwitting victim.

As an egg he was hidden among the Bushs. He was in his larval stage in Texas as a dry-well sucker at Arbusto. He then emerged as a sub-adult in Texas as a cocooned Governor. Now as an adult, he his hooks firmly planted and sucking hard on the world's life juices after mimicing a benign nitwit.

4. Kerry said" If your horse is going over the falls it's time to change
your horse in mid stream." He is so on top of it.
