I have sympathy for Laura, but always point out when this comes up that if this had been Hillary, Rove would have seen to it that she was defined forever by the event. Research into the accident would have been done by every media outlet, digging deep, with front-page stories, and extensive TV coverage. We would know if she had been drinking or smoking pot. We would know what would have happened if a Latino girl had done the same thing. We would never have seen or heard Hillary's name without that event attached to it. She would not be a Senator; if Bill had been married to her, he would probably not have been President.
