Why Did Kerry Decide To TAN Himself?
Kerry got some serious sun, and now his skin is really dark, why would he go out and TAN days before his first Presidential debate??? :eyes:

Kennedy's tan looked good in black and white. Kerry, on the other hand, will look like an oopah loompah.

But given the fact that you have Andy Warhol in your avatar I am thinking maybe you just prefer very pale people LOL

Maybe the man has gotten a tan speaking at these outdoor events?

It does happen you know!

On Edit: Please tell me that IS Andy Warhol because now that I am looking at it I am not sure. (How to make an ass of yourself in one easy step)

tone it down before the debate. His skin tone will be one of the main talking points in the aftermath if he doesn't. A tan is one thing. Looking fake is another. The media will call him FAKE.

50. May be cuz Amerika is conditioned to bad news....
since Viet-Nam when if I recall the weekly body count (dead)
ranged in 200-350. After 50,000 dead in Viet-Nam, the 1045 dead in Iraq is not making an impact. Also all those dead in Iraq are volunteers Vs. mostly draftees in Viet-Nam.

Unemployment is high in cities but the suburbanites care less since their unemployment is low with the average hanging around 5.5%. Ditto with health care...most uninsured are in big cities.

As for the gas and milk prices, the weekly increase of $10-15 does not bother the affluent. Another big city problem. This is why states with very big cities (NY, Chicago, LA, SF) have Kerry leading. The others are living in a dream world and will vote for dumbya.

Hell, it might have been a byproduct of windsurfing. Hey at least he shows he can properly apply sunscreen. Junior probably would have gotten a 2nd degree sunburn even before he fell off the board - which would have been in under 15 seconds given his prior performances on Segway scooters and mountain bikes.

18. Do I care if he has a tan?
Hell, no! Kerry can be purple and green spotted, fat, tall, short, skinny, butt ugly or Adonis. What I do care about? Does he have a brain? Is he ethical? Can he lead us out of this morass left from Bush? Can he regain America's world respect? Can he stop the killing? Can he bring our soldiers home? Can he restore democracy? Does he know what it means to be shot at and come back and try to save others from the same fate? Does he understand mathematical concepts like deficits, unemployment, tax rates, school funding, or health care costs? Will he appoint a cabinet that is not bought and paid for by corporate America? If I believe he can answer yes to anyone of these questions he is already 10 times better than Bush will ever be. That he is dead on on each and every one makes him perfect.

He can get a Mohawk and dye it blue as long as he sticks to his ideals. We need to get away from the poster boy candidate.

so ive learned to take his/her threads with a grain of salt because they often seem a bit, perhaps, dramatic or alarmed? im not sure of the proper word

perhaps its because the poster is 18 years old ... so if we keep this in mind, it does help to understand a little about the tone of threads/posts

Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 06:19 PM by T Bone
People who listened on the radio said Nixon won the debates. People who watched on tv and saw a tanned JFK next to a sweaty Nixon, with a five o'clock shadow say JFK won.

Bush will be either pasty or RED FACED on Thursday. Kerry's tan will be a plus with viewers. Trust me.

66. So, we get them to film it in B & W?
Listen, they'll both be wearing so much makeup that "Tangate" or whatever Fudge is calling it will be a moot point.

67. I could careless
Drudge was wrong about Kerry's "Mistress", and now thats out of the spotlight. I am just saying, Kennedy won because of how he looked over Nixon that debate at least, Kerry doesn't look like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on crack like Bush does.

69. That's the best explanation I've seen. More Botox.
I had heard that he is concerned about his propensity to
sweat, and in fact he stipulated that the studios be kept
below 70 degrees.

It's one thing for us to support our guy, it's another to
ignore reality and make excuses for his behavior. That's how
we got blind sided by the swift boat veterans, too. We were so
certain he was a hero, nobody really dug into his war record.

Too many of us are blinding ourselves to the obvious. He's not
tan in the picture, he's orange! His face doesn't match his
hands, which are much closer to the color of faces of the
people standing behind him. And according to the kids he
played touch football with, he was already that color when he
arrived in Boston.

Maybe this thread is stupid, but getting your face painted
right before a debate is even stupider. I wish we had
nominated Howard Dean.

70. you got no proof freeper
that's the bottom line - your wishful smears do not make reality...

no one would go and get botox injections and get 'painted' so close to a debate...

75. I am a lot more certain that John Kerry is a true hero
And Bush a coward. The facts are all there to support both claims.

84. Don't Kill the Messenger
Sorry if I jangled a few nerves. As a newbie, I probably shouldn't have come on so strong.

I'm more than a little upset by the way things are going right now. I think we all made a big mistake jumping on the Kerry Bandwagon so soon, and now we're going to pay for it.

Kerry should be polling in the mid eighties by now, and he's not. Why? There's no reason that Chimpie should be even close, after trashing the economy, burning the deficit, and getting us into Viet Nam II.

We can sit here and blame the idiots who are going to vote for the guy who sent them a couple hundred dollar check, while writing a trillion dollar check to Haliburton, or we can blame the Nazi propagandists that run the networks. Maybe we can put our fingers in our ears and say that the polls are all lies. We have ourselves convinced that the Repukes are not scoring points against Kerry, when the truth is, he's injured. Right now, he reminds me of Daffy Duck, claiming Elmer Fudd never hit him, before taking a drink of water and turning into a fountain.

If Kerry's not up by ten points after the debates, I'm voting for Nader. It might not do any good, but at least it will demonstrate to whoever the 2008 candidate is, that pandering to the center is no way to run a Democratic campaign.

79. Kerry looks totally normal in interview done yesterday by Diane Sawyer
I cannot understand why this tan garbage keeps getting so much mileage when ABC news yesterday evening showed part of the Kerry interview done just yesterday where he appears totally normal, with no orange tan or sunburn whatsoever and part of this interview with Diane Sawyer was shown this morning in GMA too.

4) stammering/stuttering
5) nervous laugh/inappropriate smirk
6) scratchy throat from the fifth of bourbon he'll chug the night before
7) an earpiece (most likely)

86. I was watching MSNBC earlier and they did some inane piece on
Kerry looking "orange" and his "tanning". Then they cut to a piece about the debates preparation and had pics of Bush and him side by side. They were BOTH orange. And why don't they ever say anything about Bush coloring his hair before a press conference?? (Not that he has to do that very often).

I really think we should all focus on this issue instead of all the people maimed and dying for a lie in Iraq. /sarcasm off

After all, he's spent half his presidency clearing brush in the Texas sun.

Maybe he's undead?
