I'm so SICK of the same crap being repeated and UNCHALLENGED by the Kerry campaign about Kerry changing positions.

I can't think of a SINGLE issue Kerry has changed his position on.

Am I just a liberal with my head in the sand?

I'm so sick of this bullshit. I mean, usually campaign attacks have SOME truth but this appears to me to be complete and utter bull!

And the media plays this crap OVER and OVER and OVER again.

I PRAY Kerry has prepared some good lines on this at the debates.

1. I'm with ya
Either we have freepers with a lot of posts, or dems that don't understand political talk.

2. Is that a swipe at me?
I'm pointing out that the so called "flip-flop" issue has no basis AT ALL.

I'm challenging ANYONE to produce ANY actual position Kerry has CHANGED on. Because he HASN'T.

And I don't want to hear vague crap...I mean something specific.

There ISN'T anything.

When will dems rally up and denounce this crap LOUDLY?

3. Kerry is arguably more consistent in his positions than other (D) candidat
Not to open old wounds from the primaries, but he was more consistent than the other candidates who switched positions on many issues.

Clark: voted Republican from Nixon through Bush Sr.
Kucinich: abortion.
Dean: former DLC supporter
Sharpton: clearly moderated his tone from his old days of activism
Lieberman: has a real record of vacilliation and flip-flops.

Politics and governing is a messy and complicated business, requiring detail, nuance and policy wonking. Bush and his nimrod supporters are either too stupid to see that, or they have a contempt for people who are clearly brighter and more capable than they are.

4. Hopefully other people look past the sound bites.
He changes positions just like Al Gore said he invented the internet. Neither happened.

12. That's exactly the problem
Very few people actually bother to research whether or not what is said by the talking heads is factual.... If I heard it on tv, it must be true! Right?!

6. Folks...this is THE Bush argument against Kerry...
Surely there is ONE factual issue Kerry has changed positions on....

We all know there are MANY MANY flip-flops for Bush...nation building, the environment, fiscal conservatism, compassion.....

Up is down and down is up in 2004.

9. I'm sure in 20 years in the Senate
you can find a couple of flip flops, but the big ones being represented by Bush are ridiculous and complete mischaracterizations.

10. I agree! I have to listen to Franken to get Kerry's positions explained
to me! It should NOT be this way.

I thought Kerry's positions on whether he'd vote to authorize, knowing what we know now, had changed, until Franken explained how what he said did not reflect a change in opinion. Turns out I wasn't listening closely enough and didn't pick up on the change in the words that Kerry used.

Kerry isn't communicating clearly enough (he needs to emphasize, emphasize, and foresee misunderstandings). And when the media mischaracterizes what he says, the campaign needs to get it straight on a national level. Otherwise, we're going to lose.

14. Kerry needs to pin the tail on the liar in the debates...
What I would love to see, so I probably won't *sigh*, is Kerry turning the "flip-flopper" back at Bush by listing the many, many, times he has done this.

15. It is amazing that so many people are buying these lies.
The Bushies have NOTHING positive to run on, but not to worry! Uncle Karl has just the solution. Brand your opponent as being uncertain, call him a FLIP-FLOPPER. Repeat. Repeat. Get the news media to report it. Find some far-out group to smear the opponent. Get the news media to report it. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Guess what? Half of the voters, not well informed, BUY IT! We have to hand it to Rove. He is a slimy bastard, but he knows what to do.

16. Kerry sometimes changes his mind, whoop dee doo
Is he supposed to stay lockstep with his policies and beliefs back in the 70s for the sake of Bushesque consistency? Bush has flip-flopped just as much as Kerry has, and this needs to get out.
