Global warming is far more dangerous than AlQueda but it's not in campaign
Edited on Mon Sep-27-04 07:44 PM by billbuckhead
Why aren't the Dems using the Florida hurricanes as a example of what's happening with global warming? Tony Blair's already said it. Make Bush choose whether he believes in global warming or not. The Bush misadministration treats global warming like everything else, excellent spin and "pie in the sky" promises that are in opposition to reality. Force Bush to choose if he believes in science or not .

1. We care about truth.
I'm sure if it were the other way around we'd have heard about it by now, but in the absence of global warming, a cyclical pattern over decades in hurricane severity in the western Atlantic (in a lull from about 1970 until the last few years) would be a reasonable explanation.

That and people don't give a flying f:):) about the future, or about other people. If we win the next several elections, it's because we are able to convince a plurality of voters that it's in their best interests to vote for us, not from appealing to their better natures.

People suck, and that's really appearent in our internet and fundamentalist/nationalist age.

4. Americans no longer care about the truth.
They think strong leadership is someone who continues to tell the same lie.

3. I found this interesting (hurricanes may slow climate change?)
HURRICANES AND GLOBAL WARMING

All Things Considered audio

All Things Considered, September 2, 1998 · NPR's Richard Harris reports that hurricanes and tropical storms may do much more than stir up the weather. A study in the journal Nature finds they draw enormous quantities of carbon dioxide out of the ocean and put it into the air. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere contributes to global warming. But in the long run, severe storms may paradoxically slow climate change.
